drought,water and icebergs

The whole world seem to be worried about the lack of water because of drought but at the same time we have been told what devastation will be caused through the icebergs melting, they say the ocen will expand and land and coastlines will disappear, maybe I am wrong but couldn't the answer to both problems be that the whole world work on using the sea water as the daily needs for water supply, I know it would probably cost a fair bit to of money to utilize this but look how much money they spend on space research, isn't our 2 water problems be the answer to each other or am I missing something....

i love it lilac you are always thinking! i too am worried about what is going to happen. you make a very logical point. it kinda confuses me lol. i think its definately worth us looking into. you also pointed out the space thing. i totally agree. i think all that time and money is a waste. its not getting us anywhere, we have bigger things that need our attention. good discussion.

you're right dear. i also cant imagine how much money already spend out to research than make purify sea water to be consuming water. but we cant do anything coz as like we know that there is political interest behind those kind research :(

I think it's worth exploring. Any time some one comes up with an idea that sounds easy, it is usually discounted as too good to be true. And what happened to the research into seeding clouds? Was that thrown out also?
