Hello all,
I have just been poking around here at MyLot tonight and I thought I would wonder thorugh the User By Location, Top Referrers, and Users By Ratings. It puzzles me about some of our members here and if you look to the bottom of your home page where it says MyLot Population it will say that there is 110,301 members to date. Now, I spend some time going through the User By Ratings and guess what I found. It says that there is 2206 pages of us members and how many post that we all have but what puzzles me is the fact that out of the 2206 pages 744 of them are of members that have joined and only have one post, WOW that is alot of them being that each page has 50 members on it. So if you were to start at page 1452 to 2206 thoes are all of the members here that only made one post and that is 37,200 members, again I have to say WOW!!!! Now I did run across two members that caught my eye and that members name is nemer24081960 and nemer240819601960, now the first thing that came to my mind is that this is the same person or they joined with the first name and then made them a referral with the other one. SO that now just tells me that 110,300 members and 37,200 one time posters that leaves 73,101 of us members here that is keeping MyLot alive and kickin so congrats to us 73,101 members that love it here, we should be darn proud of our selfs. Do you take time to check out these parts of MyLot and just wonder about why these ones joined and never made an effort or if they never come back why dont MyLot just delete them out. Are you as puzzled as I am. Hugs All!!!! +

Not all people are active, some people have 0 responses. And if you get banned from the site, you're still in the population but I don't think you show up in the search results. I'm not sure on that last part, but that's just what I assume.

Yeah, good luck...! That could prove very time-consuming and not necessarily rewarding. But it would be interesting to find out. I think some people may get discouraged or some people simply forget to come back to a site. I know that has happened to me....even the lure of earning cash is not enough sometimes, especially when it's not like a staggering amount. I think that might account for the people with just 1 post who never come back....unless of course they really are new.

The score next to your name does too mean they aren't responding, that's how I have 2246, that's how many I've responded to.

You know I look at some of them and some most of them joined made one discussion and that was it. I seen a few that had joined a year ago and that was the last time they were logged in. I just think it is neat to go through them every now and then.

i believe the admin didn't deleted those banned member's accounts because of the number of other posters who'd get affected, when they delete the account and also that banned member's discussions. It'll have a major reaction on all of those who replied and who came across with that certain user's posts, like a domino-effect. But I believe there are some that takes time, since I saw one member here who used to be active but later found out that he was caught cheating the system. After a few months, we just found out the mylot deleted everything on his profile, so it caused us all deleted posts and ratings went down because of it.

I just made those banned and inactive members as an example, no pun intended. I'd like to look at it in a more general view, that provides the same explanation to all those who joined this site.
I also have 3 referrals, two of them didn't post after registering and one left after posting 6. I also don't have any idea why they don't delete it, but whatever their motives are I guess they would prefer to keep it by themselves.

Oh I didnt say anything about banned members, it just caught me funny that 37,200 people join here for what ever reason and made one post and never posted again or has ever been back. Heck I have three people that joined under me and have never made that first post and one of them I know who it is and I tell her all the time about how silly she was to join and then not do anything here. It is like when we go to the new user discussion and we all welcome them here and that is the only discussion that they did and never come back then we just wasted our time for someone that really did care what we replyed to them if you think about it.

Wow... you did a lot of computations with that... what prompted you to do this survey or research?... i wanted to do it but i can't find the time... so you were able to beat me to it... nevertheless... i am glad that there are still a lot of active mylot members and i hope that those who are inactive will find time to participate more often...

A very interesting discussion, hoghoney. I think you have really stumbled upon something-the fact that some people know how to get around the system! I am one of the proud myLot members you refer to that enjoys coming here and posting discussions. I agree that admin should do some checking up on these one-time contributors and start eliminating those who are inactive. That would at least level the playing field for the rest of us. The guidelines should be set so that anyone who is absent for a long period of time would be automatically dropped.

Yea it is just silly on their parts to join and never come back, they just dont know what kind of fun they are missing do they,LOL. And I agree with you about the guideline. You would think that MyLot would want to clean up their files so that they could have more space for the ones like us that enjoy our time here.

Hello Gabs, how are you doing. Well like I put in my last post, this really was not about the ones that have been banned. I was just thinking that if these people that joined and only made one post and left to never come back, just image if they were active how many more discussion that we could post to everyday. If all 37,000+ were to make one discussion a day we would never run out of things to talk about.LOL. BIG HUGS!! Have a great day!

I was in there playing around too the other day. I went through my pending friends requests and deleted any where the member hadn't been on in more then 6 months. There are alot of members that haven't been on in a really long time. I do wonder why MyLot doesn't delete them.

yea I think sometimes you just got to clean house and wipe out the cob webs. I have alot of friends that have not posted in over 6 months and sometime I think about deleteing them off but then I think well they might pop back in abut then there are a few that just are not here anymore and I might clean house again this week, Hugs!

I did some random checking around just as I started to see what kind of community this was. If ppl were active, if it looked like there was a lot of "cheaters" and such, and I found that there was as you noticed a lot of one timers.
But numbers counts, so thats possibly why they havent deleted all those.
I created my account a loooong time ago, and Id say, it took over 1½ year for me to actually pay attention to it and start being active. But all earnings I had from back then were removed when I started again.

There are a lot of us here that actively participate in this community. I like this site and really enjoy the posts here for the most part. I never have a day here that I can't find something that I can respond to. I am glad that the site has so much traffic, but it would be nice if we could get all of those who don't post on here off of those lists. I do occasionally check those out and I would like to be at the top of the users list, but I don't think I will ever get there as I don't have a lot of time to spend on here most days.

Hi honey,
LOL, I appreciate you for all those calculations. I think most of those members who left mylot with a low post count such as 1,2,3... felt discouraged by the response they got for their first discussion. Just put yourself in that situation, how would you feel if nobody or only 1 or 2 in a community of 1 lakh population responds to your discussion.
Obviously, they all must have expected more response seeing the population of myLot.
When they discovered that there are no carers for them here, their pride and self-esteem was struck, they thought that the population displayed on the homepage is false and self-created, therefore they gave the verdict - THIS SITE IS A SCAM - they left. This is one case.
The other is, they might have been cheated by their referrer, who might have described this site to be the best one, with all the sugarcoating required to motivate the innocent to join under him.
When these *cheated* mylotters logged on to myLot with their lot of unavailable expectations, they are all obviously dissappointed. To add on, even myLot would have added more fuel to the fire, by deleting their introductory discussions like "Hi I'm XYZ from malaysia, what's your name?" which happened with me a long back.
Likewise, several interpretations can be given for this.
I personally believe that most of them left this place with sad faces.

Thank you Luv, I had some of the same thoughts going through my mind like that also. I at least would of came back and gave it a few days and made my own oppions about the site. and then I felt that some of them just joined to see what it was and just was not into this kind of thing here.

Hmm... I think it would be good if people who don't post anything in 90 days would be deleted. I mean one post in three months isn't much and if they can't do that it's their waste. And hey, someone mybe want to have the same nickname but it's blocked by an unactive user and then what? :P

I have noticed that also and wodered many of the same things. What gets me is that I only have 1905 posts right at the moment which should put me at the very bottom of page 11 of that list or #650 of 110,318. How exactly is that possible with out a lot of inactive members? It would be great to think that there really are 70,000+ happy members here but it just doesn't seem possible as quickly as I'm moving up through the list....considering there were 75,000 users here already when I started.
I do wish mylot would go through and delete the inactive ones...on the list at least. Sure it looks good to boast 110,000 members but it'd be nice to know where we really stand here.

I agree with you and while I was poking around I forgot what page number I was on. And it would also help when we do post to discussions of new users and then we see where it was started months ago it just makes me think that do I want to post to this one or pass it up because that person wont care what I wrote they are not here to read it. But yes it would be nice to know where we really stand at.

Well, I guess we should expect that though mylot has the biggest (i think) population in forum sites... there would be members who is not active in making post and responses. Some just even sign up then forget everything about mylot. Few are those like us who see mylot in different manner... as a way making friends, sharing, learning and earning money.

Increasing community.. let them increase ina way they want. it is good to be many than less.. magnificent ideas would appear.. who knows .. may be they would advice to some of us .. may be they would have brilliant ideas to sole our problems..
I think when the community gets larger its intelligence and it scope also goes up so that there comes more efficiency and progress.
