Hello all, i was looking at the holiday catalogue at different locations i might like travel too and i got this thought in my head for this discussion.
I was just wondering what you all look for most in choosing where to go on holiday, by that i mean what is the most important thing? is it a really good hotel or does your location have to be near a beach or have a big swimming pool or even have lots of attractions near by to go that sort of thing.

I usually choose the place for either a recreation I enjoy or to see a place I am interested in. I adore fishing so will often choose to go where the fishing is good, if it combines fishing and a beach so much the better. I like to go to interesting places which for me are such places as Machu Pichu (a dream of mine to see) or other places of ancient (uusually nonChristian) religious significance. I like the beautiful areas of America, Carlsbad Caverns was indescribably beautiful and I love the deep desert of the American Southwest. I am not much for attractions such as amusement parks or sport type resorts. A swimming pool is of no significance since I only swim to keep from drowning lol. I will occasionally choose a short getaway at a hotel that has a big comfy bed, cable and internet and 24 hour room service and perhaps a hot tub. That's for a slug a few days away rest vacation.

We look for enjoyable things to do in the area and sites we haven't seen before. It really depends on the area and what is available. I love to poke around historical markings. Also, enjoy quiet campgrounds, a beach. You need to find something that all members of the family will enjoy. You could make a list and let everyone vote :)

Where i choose to travel depend on something as money how many i have, the weather whiche place fit to go ,and so on.
If on summer i would like to go to Hai Nan the city in north of my country (China),going to beach, swimming under sunshine. If on winter i would like to go to south to view snow, because that in my province there is no snow.
The first to consider is the economy,if i have enough money i can travel where i prefer.

There is only one place that I want to go, Chicago.I picked it because of the location. I want to see the city and eat some deep dish pizza. Before this , it was New Orleans. I got to go back in 1997.I picked it because of the beauty of the city.It is your holiday. Pick a city that has things that you always wanted to do.Bon Voyage.

I look for the following:
1. Somewhere I haven't gone before or someplace that changes often if I have gone before (like a museum that changes over 50% of the items or more or has demonstrations by artisans on a different topic or theme so the artisans are different).
2. Someplace within my pocketbook range so I won't go broke or more in debt.
3. Someplace that will make my Military Retired and Historically addicted husband happy. Although he does like mysteries, too.
4. Someplace where there is a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. That way, if it's raining, we can be inside, if it's not, we can be outside. If it's hot or cold,we can go out for a little while and come back in to cool off or warm-up.
We've been to lots of museums, forts, reinactments, cultural events, and indoor/outdoor craft shows.
