me ill go for the hydrogen car.....because it will still run at night time and when the sun is not shining, whereas the solar car...it will only run when the sun is shining....

I think they should take solar cars and put them where the sun doesn't shine....seriously, though, solar cars--if they could be made practically, would be great for daytime commutes in a very specific application, provided they have batteries that would ensure at least some mobility in the dark. Hydrogen, on the other hand is plenitful, cheap, powerful and practical. It seems the best choice for an all-around vehicle alternative to petroleum fuels. Oh, about the solar car...if it is parked all day at work charging, that's great. But what about in big cities where the majority of parking is in indoor garages...dark ones. The hydrogen car requires a whole lot less change in total infrastructure.

I'd go for hydrogen as well but that is because current technologies would only allow so much for solar. For one thing, the solar panels needed for a solar powered car would be more practical if put on streets and roofs of buildings so weight and size would not be an issue. Whenever solar-electric cars park at these parking posts, parking garages and buildings, they would plug into a port at the space and get the solar recharge from the facility. Still, with improvements in photovoltaic technology over future years, it would be more feasible and economical to put refined efficient solar paneling on the cars themselves. Hydrogen has its advantages but it could take several decades to tackle the main problems. Most of the conundrums include hydrolysis/catalysis management, emission management, creating a large scale powerplant to manage the hydrogen conversion, the issue of hydrogen being more of a power carrier and not a real power source, fuel storage, among other concerns.

I would like to have most for SOLAR powered car. I read a lot about that articles and the engine performance very blissful and still can enjoy the same speed as petrol car vehicle. The manufacturer intent to put on sales and mass production in 2010. You can view it on National Geographic in Astro Channel for Future Car program. Amazing invention.
