do you ever avoid certain messes?

Messes. As a mother, there are ALWAYS messes. But I have been avoiding this sticker that somehow got in the bathwater with my son, and he stuck it on the side of the tub...now that's not a "mess" persay, but why have I not picked it up yet? I take a shower everyday, and the sticker stares at me everyday. Now I'm here writing about it, and I bet I STILL won't go in and get it. It's not even a sticky sticker anymore, it's just sitting there among his tub toys...ha.
But I also will put off dishes all thru the day until after supper maybe, unless there is something stinky, and I don't mop the floors as often as I maybe should. I'm bad about laundry sometimes too. Takes me awhile to put away clean clothes. Sad eh?!!
But are there messes, (whether you're a parent or not, this is for everyone) that you just look at day to day and walk around, or make a path thru?

I do. I am a stay at home mom of two boys 3 and 5 and I watch 5 other kids all under 5. So we have a lot of messes and I dont usually have time for picking up. I try to pick up the little things like toys and dishes from lunch. But other than that I wait till the evenings to do my laundry and load the dishwasher. I wait till the weekends to mop and rug clean. With that many kids were bound to get something on the floor. I do vaccuum everyday though!! Have to I have a baby who is in the crawling stage and tries to eat everything on the floor.

yea with that many kids at one time i bet there are messes! i would wait too. besides your main concern is the kids at the time, so i think it's good you wait to clean up after the daycare kids go home! but it's also good you vacuum everyday with the crawling baby! haha how cute, the crawling stage is! but i did clean more often when my son was crawling as well!! what busy days you must have! but a nice income from that eh? but they're all under 5? wow!! hands full! but i bet it's so much fun!

It is a lot of fun but busy. Crawling is a great stage but man. Hes here and then there and then here again!! LOL I do make pretty good money for it. I watch two of them four days a week for 8 hours and get 100 a week. I watch one for 20$ a day which is usually 60-80 a week. then I have one who only comes 2 days a week and I get 30 for him. So yeah thats 200+ a week, its pretty good money. But im not in it for the money. I love to care for the kids and teach them. Its very rewarding.

so you don't always have them all at the same time everyday? that helps!! heehee!
yes it is rewarding, bless your heart, as even as a daycare provider, if you will, you ARE a teacher!! it's a tough thing to do, but so great!!
to watch them grow, whether they're yours or not is so fun!! good work dear friend! keep it up!!

I'm really bad about that, too. I've been stepping over the piles of clothes my son created outside of his room earlier this week. I still haven't thrown them in the laundry room, even though I walk right by them several times every day. I always tell myself I will go back and get them picked up, but I haven't yet. He didn't have any accidents in any of them, so I tell myself I can get them later.

But my mother has threatend me to take away my xbox 360 and im addicted to nba2k8 so I have to clean it this weekend so I dont get it taken away from me.

Sure you're right. Regardless if it's in life or the kiddies bathwater sometimes there's just things you think it doesn't matter if it's now or five minutes from now, I know I'm going to get it, after all where's it going to go. Although, you really might want to go ahead and grab that sticker.

that's the thing about this place, you don't HAVE to talk politics, or religion, or whatever else that gets people fired up, you can talk about everyday stuff, and SOMEONE out there shares that interest!!

yeah, I am pretty new, but this seems like a pretty fun place. Atleast, I'm learning that I'm not the only one who thinks about stickers in the bathtub or feels a little guilty about skipping out on folding that last load in the dryer so that I can do something fun and entertaining( like anything else)lol. Oh and I'm glad you finally got that sticker that was stalking u in the tub.

ha, it is kinda a punishment isn't it!! haha!!
i hate it in my house, cuz i'm the one who ALWAYS does it...someone has to, and it's me...so it's SUCH the chore!!

I avoid the basement. It needs to be cleaned again and I am never down there but it's kind of like a dungeon and I dont like it down there. I am going to tackle it this weekend though and then later start painting or something to brighten it up. Maybe then laundry won't be such a hassle.

haha, seems like the purpose of a lot of people's basements, kinda the storage dungeon area!! it takes a lot of time and effort to do all that, and you know that, and that's why you don't want to of course. and you need room to rearrange and then put back stuff, it's quite something to tackle!

We have quite a few stickers stuck around the house that I tend to overlook until they get wet or something happens to them. It's funny that you brought this up because I do the same thing. I do try to mop at least once a week. I have to vac often because of allergies but if I don't have to do something I tend not to do it because I just don't have time. I was barely here this week.

i think a lot of people feel that way. if we don't have to do something, we tend not to, we all have busy lives. so sometimes it's hard to do it all, have to separate the chores a bit. i try to smash all the dusting and vacuuming and mopping in one day, but then i rush thru it, cuz of something else that needs to be done. so i need to schedule vacuuming one day, dusting another day. i tend to just do it when i see it though...'OH LOOK yuck, dust', and i clean it right then!! 'oh more crumbs on the floor again', vacuum it right up. haha, as long as it's somewhat clean, i'm okay with it!!
