Hi TerryZ,
My hubby and I used to have this kind of a problem. He is a major impulsive spender so he made us broke and JUST get by for one whole month (trust me it was scary) and then after he said I'm so sorry hunnie, you were right, I can't control my spending habbits, and ever since then I hang onto the money. That way it doesn't get spent all in one day lol!

Oh yeah. Happens all the time. We are ebay traders I do the buying and he does the selling. If I don't buy what he wants, I get a bit of the silent treatment. Big sook lol. If I do, it is usually yeah, it's ok. Arrrrggghhhhh!

I told him, but he still insisted on coming to see me. My boyfriend and I are in different colleges, and we're not rich.Next month he wants to come here just to see me, I don't like it as the financial problem, but he said it's ok.
Why don't they listen?

My husband always end up of fighting because of that setuation! he knows that were out of budget. But if he wants to buy something he really wants and you can't say no because we are out of money. Then when he bought what he likes end up for just wasting money and always told him that don't buy.

In our house, I'm the one who takes care of finances and money management. When my husband wants something or wants to go somewhere and we don't have the money, I let him know and he listens. He understands that I do know what I'm talking about and am very fair when it comes to extras. He'd never turn around and do it anyway, although he might bug me a little bit about it, but it's no big deal. If my husband was in charge of finances, we'd be homeless, I'm sure, lol! All the money would be spent on video games. The only times I say (in a nice way) I told you so, is when he wants to buy something that I feel won't work for what we need, isn't what we need to begin with, won't be used, etc., and we get it and I'm right.

Usually, he won't but **** happens, so, I would never say I told him so. That wouldn't go over very well in my house.

One thing I've notices...when a man wants something he wants it right now! There is no waiting. I've learned to just put up with it. lol What else can you do? Nagging doesn't really help.

It's not just my partner that doesn't listen to me, people in general don't listen to me, and I'm rarely ever wrong. Generally, I stay out of things that anyone else does, just because I don't want to be a part of it. Generally, if my partner does anything or what not, it's all on their head and sometimes it's rather difficult to stop myself from saying I told you so, simply because I usually tell them it's bad on several occasions but I'm never listened to.

My husband has a habit of buying big stuff, which I really do not mind, since I use it too, like the big screen TV, and car, etc. but when we go grocery shopping, he tells me to watch the budget when we are in the produce section.
We do have enough money, it is just that he was brought up to believe women were empty headed bird brains.

That's a difficult one...
That's never really happened to me, but I think it would deserve a great big I told you so....
For instance my hubby really wants to go to Disney World (he and his family would go every year). But he knows we don't have the money right now. He annoyingly brings it up all the time. His brother and his wife just got back from there so now he really wants to go. I remind him that they have 2 incomes and no children (which equals extra disposable income). It's annoying... C'est la Vie...
I'm not sure what would be worse for him to just book a trip and be broke or for him to go on and on....
