Books on Ebay

Do books sell good on ebay? I've never tried selling anything on Ebay. I have some hardbacks in great condition, and some soft covers in good condition. I was thinking maybe if I made the starting bid at a price that makes 2 of the books basically free than people might make offers? I wanted to sell the hard covers alone and the soft covers alone. I think all the hard backs I have are valed at $196.00+, and I was going to do the starting bid at $150 or $160. And the soft covers are valed at around...I think 96 bucks and I was going to make the starting bid at $85...that way, both ones are like getting 2 books free. That's good right?

I think it depends on the books, not sure how books go selling them in bulk, it is best to search what is up for sale and see what is selling, some books are collectables and some are not and you might find some people may not be willing to buy a whole lot to get a few that they want.. I haven't sold many books on Ebay, but I did strike it lucky with a book called Footrot Flats Annual that I bought at a garage sale for $1 and I got $180 because it was a collectable... so good luck anyway I hope you sell them...

I believe that it totally depends on the book. About the paperback books. have you considering putting them on paperbackswap.com. You don't sell the books on there you actually give them away however you get books free in return. I like the Harlequin American Romance books that don't really sell good on ebay so I just put the ones that I have read on paperbackswap.com & get a free copy of one that I haven't read yet then once I finsih the new book that I just got I put it back on paperbackswap

I like the idea of that site. But right now I really don't need anymore books. A lady I worked with gave me like, 10 or more books! She was so nice! lol. I am set on reading material for a while, but I'll def. keep that site in mind! Thank you! :)

It totally depends on the books you are thinking to sell and its demand. If people would be interested, they would buy it. But there's nothing wrong in trying. I mean you can try selling them on ebay because if it gets sold it would be good for you and if not also I don't think there would be any loss (if ebay services for sellers are free).

Books don't seem to be selling very well here in the UK at the moment and the postage and packing prices can be quite high for a hard back book. Combining postage can help but the weight of books makes the costs quite high and it puts a lot of people off. I guess you should do ok though, finges crossed.

This is a great question. I will have to keep an eye on this one to see what people say. I have often thought about selling some things, including books on Ebay myself.

I have sold so many books on Ebay. I have found that fantasy/sci fi sets, you know the ones that have ongoing series are the ones that sell the best. When I sell I also try and sell in groups, liek 2 or three by the same author. Or I sell in another group like "Oprak Book Club" ones. But yes, books are very very popular. I also purchased Belle de Jour for $3.00 about a year ago, then sold it again on Ebay for $15.00. Was very happy with that profit!

Hello there, books sell very well on ebay although I know it might be time consuming you might find you can make alot of money selling them individually. Give it a go.
