I am not but I am a stay at home dad LOL
Actually my wife and I are both stay at home parents.
If you are a stay at home mom when the house work is done and other than spending time with the kids, wjat do you do with the rest of your day?
OK, ok, I know the old saying that it is a fulltime job. I know this is not true but do not worry your secret is safe with me and I wont tell your hubby. LOL
I have been a stay at home dad for several years and I KNOW it is not a full time job. Sure you can spend a few hours cleaning up and maybe some laundry, playing with and spending time with the small ones but they reality is there is way more down time than you would have at a full time job.
Now before you respond arguing this point remember one thing. It is either late morning or early afternoon depending where you are in the US.
If you are going to respond and try to debate it being a full time job remember you are currently online on mylot typing discussions so by even typing up an arguement at this time of the day you are going to prove my point. LOL
So, what do you do to fill the down time during the day.

LOL! I like the way you defend your point! Well, I do agree with you, it definitely is not a full time job. No point in arguing at all. But being a parent is a full-time responsibility, though, isn't it? Anyway, when I've done all my housework at night, I sit on my desk, start the computer, check my email, write on mylot, write on my own site ( http://www.paulynramirez.com ), read other blogs, and simply enjoy the internet. Night time is the best time for my leisure when all the kids have gone to bed. Daytime for me is working with my fiance in our business, and at the same time, taking care of the housechores too.

Yes i agree it is a full time responsibility. We actually work a home based business and once all the "round the house work" is completed we get to work.

Yes I am a stay at home mom and yes it is a full time job for me as I have a son with mild autism and I have to be around him all the time. Right now in australia its 3 am so he is sleeping and I can spend some time on the internet. When I have some free time (usually when he watches tv or my husband is at home) I read or we watch movies together.

Yes it is a full time job. I feel more stuffed at the end of a day then when I do at my job. I have three under 3.5, they are all at home, they are all spirited, none in childcare. I am currently doing all the washing and cooking for my in laws because my mum in law had a stroke. I have noone to mind the kids, even if we want to catch a movie. But that was my decision, I'm proud of it. But I would much rather be at work than being a referee between a toddler and preschooler, I need to keep them entertained constantly. I need to educate the, pay bills, cook, clean, do the gardening blah blah blah. YES!!It is a full time job-Dr Phil says its the equivelant of having 2 full time jobs.
And I'm inclined to believe him.
