If so how or where did you learn? Is it your native language or is something else? I do know how to speak Spanish. I learned some in high school. But mostly for hearing it being spoken. I have been dating Spanish men as long as I can remember. And I picked up a lot of it from them. And now I'm married to a Puerto Rican so I learned a lot from him also. English is my native language but I love knowing how to speak Spanish.

I could speak Spanish. Though unlike some, I have studied it way back high school.. We had foreign language in high school and Spanish was one of the languages to be studied there, aside from French, Japanese and German.

spanish is one of the subject i have during college, although i can no longer remember a lot from it because i dont have anyone to speak it with. it is easy to learn a language if you have someone to talk to.

Around Texas you almost have to speak Spanish. Many jobs require bilingual applicants. I learned French when I was in high school. We were not offered a choice. We had to take two years of Latin before we could take French. Since I took those I can almost read a little Spanish since it is based on Latin as are all the Romance languages, Spanish, French, Italian. I can speak a few words in Spanish but not enough to carry a conversation.

hello, lifez2short! I cann't speak Spanish but I want to learn it very much! It is said that Spanish sounds best amony all the languages in the world. I have heard some from the TV and the movie, and it is really fair-sounding. It is best to immerse into the culture for learing a language, so how i want to stay in Spain for some time!!
My mother tongue is Chinese. I read some words from a magagine saying that the dominant language is Latin in the first thousand years, English in the second thousand years and Chinese in the third thousand years! hehe~~ how i hope it is real!

Lifez2short!I do speak spanish too,not as my primary language, cause I`m from Brazil, where Portuguese is spoken! I speak spanish because is very comerecial and technical language world wide. But if you´re marriew to a Porto Rican why a better teacher than him? In South America, only Brazil dont speak spanish. I´fromm the South Brazil, and their limits or fronties are Agentina,Uruguay and Paraguay,so it´s very easy to us,gauchos, speak spanish as secondary
language. We call them, Los Hermanos.the Brothers or
Los Gringos, the gringos, just like the Mexicans call
all americans, correct? But practise your spanish, daily, La Lengua de Miguel de Cervantes, the Author of Dom Quixote!Un gran saludo del amigo Walter Lock, de Brazil

I speak some Spanish, but I can't carry on an in-depth conversation in it. I learned it in school but once I got to Spanish IV, I seemed to have some kind of learning block. It's hard for me to learn verb conjugations for some reason, so I have never been able to master the language. I have tried to teach my son a few Spanish words here & there, as I think it's very important to at least be bilingual, if not know more than 2 languages well.

I know alot of Spanish words, because the Spaniards stayed here in our country for around 300 years, that's why most of our native words are derived from Spanish. I can count from 1-20, our greetings are almost the same, the names of things are the same or quite the same.

I can speak only a few words. A foreign language was a required subject when in high school. Spanish sounded easier than some of the other languages so that's the direction I went. I can understand a little bit when it's spoken slow but could never survive in Spain or anywhere it's the primary language of that particular country.

I can speak a little, read a little - not very proficient at it though, too many years out of practice. I began learning as a child when I lived in Panama Canal Zone... then in highschool I took 4 years and a trip to Spain. I think I would have been better off taking latin, though.
