Anyone use this? Have experience with the company? We used it for almost a year and had good service, never a problem. However, I called to cancel the service because we hadn't used it in a couple of months and are trying to set up a new office in our home. I first got an automated system. It told me that there was a high volume of calls at the present time, to please call back Tuesday through Thursday. Huh??? No thanks, I need this canceled today...MONDAY! So I call back and pushed another button to get customer service. I got referred to one person after the other. Finally, I got a rude dude on phone. He told me don't worry...we won't bill you again until January. I told him I didn't want that...I want to cancel service. Please do so, and provide me with a confirmation number. He kept on and on and finally I said that I would contact my attorney if I had to. He said hold on, I'll let you speak to them. OMG! We went on and on.... I asked to speak to his supervisor. He said they weren't taking calls...very smartass. I finally got a confirmation number but I have doubts that this was cancelled. I'll be checking my monthly statement and there better not be a charge. I just thought I'd throw this out in case some of you are considering using this company for internet service. We had good service but if you can't communicate with them, the good service is useless in my opinion. Anyone else have problems with them?

I have had a similar problem with an online storage service long time back, when I cancelled my membership even before the trial period, they still went on to bill my credit card, but when sent a mail to them, they eventually paid me back realizing the mistake. I would suggest you to persist on them by sending mails again and again, you would succeed.

I had a similiar p[roblem way back meany years ago cancelling AOL. What I did immediately after the basic run around with so called "customer service" of AOL was I called my credit card company ordering them not to accept any charges from AOL as of such and such date. Try that. It helps. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Wow this sounds like a company I want to stay away from. I haven't used them, but hearing about the problems, I am thinking I should walk in the other direction...

I have never used People PC but I know I had similar problems with AOL and MSN. I had to make many, many calls before they did the cancellation.

People PC ...not so great! - People PC company
I never use people pc because I use cable but my daughter went through the same thing and they DID charge her after getting the confirmation cancellation #. I had told her when she did it and I'm advising you also to call your credit card company and tell them the situation so they won't accept the billing if/when they get it. It never hurts to cover your a**!

I had the same thing happen to me. The only difference is that they kept pushing about giving me another 3 more months for free without being billed and i kept telling them i did not want it i wanted it canceled this went on a few times till i finally had to get nasty. you shouldnt have to resort to that. but thats what i ended up doing.
