Please join me in wishing our silly black and white kitty a happy birthday today. He turns 4 years old. I believe that makes him a teenager in kitty years. He sure behaving like one! He meows constantly to get his way, thinks that MY bed is HIS bed, and complains whenever there is something in the litter box. All these demands from such a small animal. Don't worry, he is well loved, and we'll celebrate with him. I'm sure the kids will find a cute little party hat for him to wear.
Do you dress your pets up? How about silly parties? Can you even remember (or know) your pet's birthday?
Have a great day everyone! :)

Hope your kitty has a happy and healthy birthday. Four years old really is a milestone. When most of my cats turned four they stopped acting like naughty kittens and started acting like well behaved cats. As for the constant meowing, my cats do that too and that never stops no matter how old they get ^_^. I'd love to see a picture of your cat dressed up. My kitties won't even stand to wear a collar much less a whole outfit. Unfortunately my family doesn't celebrate birthdays for our pets since they are all rescues and we don't know their actual birth dates.

Thomas doesn't like collars either. He would wear it if I made him, but with so many shrubs and little places he likes to crawl in, I'm afraid he'll get caught and then I won't be able to find him. (that happened to a dog I had once when I was really little.)
The funny thing is, he's not so naughty anymore, but he still is pretty frisky. His favorite toys are my girl's My Little Ponies. He loves the hair on those little things. Silly cat!

cikedo, for my adoptees I always celebrate the day they were 'born' to my 'family', the day they came to live with us by whatever means. I can't leave them out of the festivities just because I don't know the true date.

Happy, happy birthday, Thomas!!! May you have many many more!!!
My furbabies get a birthday party, as well as celebrations for the other holidays. For their birthday, they wear a little hat for the 'party' they all get the birthday kitty or dog's favorite food treat, and they get a new store bought toy (although they usually like the homemade ones better lol).
I was there for Samson's birth, I was his mom's midwife, so I know his birthday. Uno came to us as a stray so the day we actually got her to come into the house to stay is now her birthday.
Uno's birthday is next month so she'll get a tuna filet (with a candle of course) and a toy. I'll grill her tuna cause that's her favorite. We make the wish for them and blow out the candle. Uno has not quite figured that out, but Samson seems to know cause he'll close his eyes while we make the wish lol. Samson gets turkey for his birthday. My mom and I have a party, it gives us an excuse to eat cake and ice cream, and the furbabies get ice cream too, though neither of them cares for cake.
King, our dog also gets a party. We know his birthday cause we waited for him to be born to a friend's dog. He loves cake, so will have some and he gets hot dogs (yeah, I know, weird, but they are his very favorite food). He loves his birthday cause he gets to spend all day in the house. He's a big clumsy thing, so mom and I spend the following two days picking up everything he's knocked over. He gets to sleep on the couch the night before, which he thinks is a fine treat. But by the second day he's a bit stir crazy and ready to go back to his yard and doghouse. Plus the cats worry him to a frazzle playing and jumping all over him. They think he's a big cat.
Your Thomas sounds wonderfully spoiled, such a lucky kitty. I hope your family and he have a wonderful day. Uno, Samson, King and we send our best wishes.

Your pets sounds like they have a lovely time! My son suggested that we feed Thomas a whole can of tuna for his birthday. While that may sound like a great idea... he'd actually eat the whole thing and then demand more!! LOL! He's funny that way... never satisfied with what he has.
I think overall he had a great day. My daughter (whose 3) carried him all over the house. She did remember to not pick him up by the neck, so that was pretty nice. He got to see his girlfriend (our neighborhood stray) outside. And Tigger, our other cat, didn't growl at him once. (she's usually pretty territorial.)
Then, Thomas slept on my son's pillow (well, he does that everynight) while Matthew read to him.
I'd say overall he had a pretty nice day!

Sounds llike he had a wonderful birthday. And isn't it funny how little kids pick special days to do (or not do) what you've told them to over and over?
And Thomas is the very inage of cool in his sunglasses lol.

Happy Birthday Thomas! That is so cute. We don't usually celebrate the kitties birthdays though we do remember them and say happy birthday. We always give them something for Christmas and Easter though. Vicki

Thanks vicki! Our kitties usually get something special for Christmas. I never think about Easter. Hm... I suppose I could fit some tuna into a little plastic egg for them and send them on an egg chase. LOL!

Happy Birthday Thomas!
A cat reaches the tweenies at 6 months & basicly won't grow anymore after 2, unless he's a Maine Coone or Norwegian Forest Cat.
But don't go with saying at cat ages 7 years for each year - or some other number. My 16 yr old cat is comperable to an 80ish yr old person.
Cats mature much more quickly than people. But slow way down after they reach maturity.

I knew that cats aged differently thank people do, but I didn't realize it was 7 years! He's almost as old as I am, then! LOL! That explains why my 9 year old "kitten" isn't as lively as she once was. :)
Thanks for the well wishes. I'll pass them along to our kitty. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Thomas!!!!
In fact, he's about 32 years old now, in cat years.
And yes, I remember my cats' birthdays: my elder tomcat was born on March 13th 2003 and my two kittens on May 30th 2007.
They are pretty picky too and they always act childish but I love them just the way they are, in fact, I don't know what I would do without them.
Again a huge Happy Birthday to Thomas and have fun at the party LOL.

A very happy belated (or would be an early??) Birthday to you kitties. :) Those pesky felines are tons of fun, and always loveable. Thomas the Cat has got to be one of the most tolerant cats I've known. The kids are always carrying him like a baby, and playin a little rougher than they should. He just keeps coming back for more.
I'll pass your greetings onto Thomas. He's here somewhere. Probably wondering why I have changed the litter box, yet. LOL! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
I also remember my pet's birthday. On his birthday,I will make the food which he love it very much by myself. And on that day,I will allow him doing everything he like.I think that will make him feel happy.
But to be honesty,I fell a little doubt that do he know the real meaning of birthday.Or it just our people thought ?

Oh, I'm sure the animals don't have a care or a clue as to what a birthday is. It's just fun to spoil them a bit on their day as that's how I like to be treated. :)
