for me i think at the age of 18 is good enough to start dating.but of course it should be limited to dating only and no other extra activities to do.since 18 is still young age to be liberated.but i think when she reaches 20years old she is old enough to do anything she wishes to do.with me guiding her if she really wanted or seeking my guidance.

Thankfully, I have time to prepare myself for dating when it comes to my two daughters - they are only 18 months and 2 months old. :-)
When it comes to my daughters, there will be a lot of factors that I look at before I allow them to date. Since everyone matures at a different level, I won't put an age requirement before I approve of them going out with boys. However, when that time does come.. there will be rules to follow and if they can't handle that, then they aren't ready to be dating!

The age 16 seems reasonable. That was when I began dating, but the first guy I dated was not much to brag about.

Id say it depends on the child When you feel they can be responsible for thier own thoughts That they understand the rules you set and you feel the trust is there I let my daughter start dating at 15 small dates a movie dinner school dances things like most of the time I took her and picked her up or she went with a group at 16 I allowed single dates but knew when and wehere they was going and set a time limit at 17 I was easier on her long as she was in by 10-1030 and I knew thier plans I was alright with it I also had her on birth control at this age

I worry about this question and I'm just the AUNT!!! I am helping to raise my two nieces, ages 9 and 3. Along with two boys, 8 and 6. I dread when those times to come. I would prefer there be a group to be going to the movies or something. Maybe around the age of 13. That was the age I was when I was allowed to date. I think I was allowed to go to some places before that a bit earlier, to like church events or if there were parents there, especially my parents. Then again, times have changed even since I was young. And that scares me. It scares me what my niece already knows at her age. Times have really changed!!!

I don't have a younger sister. If I did, I would leave it up to my parents to determine when she started dating, as I don't think it would be any of my business. As for my own children, both male and female, we have very clear rules here. IF we feel they are mature and responsible enough, then we allow group dating, with adult supervision, at the age of 15. Then, at the age of 16, if they are still showing maturity and responsibility, we begin to allow one on one dating.

After high school, this is either 17 or 18, teens are still forming their brains until 25yr. They still don't have good judgemnet. Having a boyfriend is tressful, first have them go as a group outing, not one on one, my daughter befriened a Gay Boy, I don't agree with this lifesyle, but this is her first friend. She is now a Junior and he is in the military. I made a mistake and allow her older sister to date at 16yr. Looking back this was not a good idea, her grades went down and the boyfriend became the most important thing in her life. My older daughter is 23 today, she graduated from the University and is now working and soon to go back to get her Masters. Meanwhile the 15 yr.old wants to go out real badly but we are not allowing this to happen.
