While your shopping either in a food store or walmart and you leave your shopping cart to go look at something and when you return its gone? I think that is so rude. Then you have go and get another cart and start all over again. I think there should be a law against steeling someones shopping cart. Dont you?LOL

Happens to me too. I hold onto my cart for dear life these days because people literally steal it from me if I don't. Sometimes, it has a bunch of stuff I am going to buy in it and someone will take it. That really ticks me off.
It happens mostly in Wal-Mart and it happened in a grocery store the other day. I walked down the aisle to get something, turned around to get my cart, and it vanished. GRRRR.

I have had someone mistake my shopping cart for theirs, and visa versa, but if I have something in it, no one is going to take it. If you have an empty shopping cart, of course, people will think it is not being used, and if you have to put money at the shopping cart place outdoors, you would be angry. I keep my shopping cart with me at all times, or at least without eyesight. Mind you if there is something of mine in it, food items, that is, they will have to pay for it and deal with their wife or husband at home.

I had it happen at Ollies one time.It was funny though because I only had a few items in it.It ended up I was in back of the person in line. When they started to pull things out of their cart. The woman said"This is not mine"She was an elderly woman and when I told her she had my cart. She was so sorry. But it gets even funnier. Now she couldn't find the cart she first had and had to go shopping again.I swear this is true.I still laugh about it when I think of it.

Well Terry!
lol Did you have items in it? lol I have never had this happen to me. I have had an empty cart taken from me, when I was only an arms length away. I spoke up and they said "oh" and gave it back to me.
That sounds like something that would be on Candid Camera or something. lol

Oh my! I think I would have laughed later on. Just makes you wonder what is on peoples minds. I havent seen a Wal-Mart yet that dont have at least ONE cart at the front of the store for shoppers. I guess they didnt feel like walking back up to the front to get a cart.
Ive went in without one thinking it would deter me from buying a lot of stuff, just like the other day, but I ended up going to get one because my arms were full. I will admit, I sure was looking around for an empty one so I wouldnt have to walk all the way to the front. I didnt find one. LOL

I remember that happened to me at Walmart one time. I thought I was trippin! I guess I'm not the only one. Just make sure purses don't get left in there. That would be a good reason for someone to take it. Scary thought.

It's happened to me once but I had food in the cart - I think it was a tin of tomato sauce and two cans of chicken soup.. when I turned around the cart was missing and I actually went around looking for it LOL of course I didn't find it but still, it was very rude of them to do that!

I don't leave it alone because I usually have my purse or keys and wallet in it. But if a basket is comlpetely empty, there isn't anyway for someone to know if it was abandoned or temporarily left. My aunt will take an empty basket if no one is tending to it. I don't agree with thism but sometimes they DO get left because the person decided they didn't want it.

I've never had that problem. I don't leave my cart when it's empty...and I pretty much take my cart with me if I'm going to be looking at something. However, I think it's crazy that people do that. I didn't think people did that before. Once I did see someone actually picking stuff out of someone else's cart. Crazy. I'd agree with you. You got the cart, it's your cart! No one else should be able to have it.

This did happen to me once at the market, I set it aside to run and get one last item and when I cam back it was gone. It was very frustraiting since I had to do all of my shopping all over again, but I was gald to know that I didn't have any weird taste in food or anything that someone would not want to take or anything like that.

I've had that happen and it is annoying...but its worse when I accidentally grab someone else's cart and walk off...then realize its my cart...but have made a few different stops and am not quite sure where I grabbed said cart. I'm not oblivious mind you, just rather preoccupied or trying to get the shopping done. To prevent that I now put a jacket or something in my cart. LOL

Sorry that has happened to you terry. I have never had that happen, but that might be because the first thing to go in the cart is my purse and I would never leave that. I think it is safe to think that if you take a cart from the corral and walk away with it there is someone there who is using it. I had a fit with rude people at the store today, so this really makes me wonder about peoples lack of common sense and manners.

Hi TerryZ! Oh, that happened to me just once and it was a few years back now and I hope it will never happen again because at my age now, I might have a heart attack. haha.. I was on a grocery store and left my cart in the fruit section because I am having a hard time pushing my cart, I guess the wheels need to be oiled, so I left it for a few minutes because I went to the meat section and when I came back for my cart, it was gone. I hurriedly look for it and fortunately one of the employees got it and he said that he thought it was abandoned already that is why, he took it and was just about to place everything that I got back to the shelves. Well, I didn't get mad because he apologized over and over again. hehe.. Take care and have a nice day.
