I know, I also drink coke, but these information is pretty alarming, don't you think? Please read on, this might save your health. God bless you!
WATER
#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population.)
#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.
#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.
#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of
water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain
for up to 80% of sufferers.
#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?
COKE
#1. In many states the highway patrol carries
two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.
#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke
and it will be gone in two days.
#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the
toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes
stains from vitreous china.
#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds
Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour
a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.
#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
#7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake.
Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil,
allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy .
#8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke
into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run
through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
#1 the active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid.
It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric
acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major
contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.
#2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the
commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place
cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
#3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean
engines of the trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water?
or Coke?
I am not sure if all the information provided here are correct, but I think that water is still the best drink. After all, our bodies are made up mostly of water, so what best to supplement it than water itself? :-)

When you drink water, it is much satisfying especially when you are really thirsty.
Water can totally wash out the toxic components inside our body.
Have a nice day!

Thank you for such a good discussion which is very well explained.
I completely agree with you.
Water is so much important for our body.
But in most of the countries, most of the people do not take water in sufficient quantity.
I have noticed that in US mainly, people take soft drinks instaed of water most of the time.
Its not here in my country.
Generally people take water to quench their thirst.
So it is very important drink.

Great post and thank you for the information!
I hardly ever drink soft drinks. I usually drink bottled water, tea or decaf coffee (rarely). Water quenches my thirst so much better than any soft drink or any other drink for that matter.
Water is very healthy and we should be drinking 7 to 8 glasses daily.
Thanks again and God bless.

sure springlady, anything to help. i am not saying though that all information here are true because in the internet, we cannot really trust everything. but well, it pays to be careful. i have nothing against coke, i do drink it, but just occasionally. primarily because i get constipated. i'd rather drink juices and water. :-)

I agree with those informations, i read a lot about it in different papers or listen to it in medias. I would prefer a glass of water rather than a glass of coke. I drink coke but only at times when am out in a part or something like that.
Anyway thanks for those precious information that you are sharing with all the people here. I really appreciate those information also.

no doubt water still holds the most important place in all human beings life and that it is a necessity for the survival of each one of us. we can drink lots of aerated drinks all through our lives but if e are really thirsty nothing would give that pleasure which comes from drinking water

for me water is still the best to drink. it doesn't have sugar that coke has. and it will help regulate our bowel movements because it cleans up our system.

oh thanks! i only got this from the internet. but thanks for the links. i am sure it will help others, too. but still, i think it would be best if we drink water than coke or any other unnatural drink. :-) don't you agree?

I won't get into the whole snopes thing since you already know that...although I do know that Coke is caustic enough to do some of those things under the right conditions.
I agree with you about the water issue though, as much as I love my Coke, I do notice a difference in how I feel when I make the effort to drink more water. I wish my s/o would lay off the soda a little. It's ALL he drinks...Dr. Pepper and Jones Cream Soda.

I love water.. its what I drink most and I always have some nearby and always make sure I have plenty available. Unfortunately, the place I just moved to has terrible tap water that smells like sulfur.. its' disgusting.. so now I have to have water delivered in 5 gallon bottles.. but its worth it cuz i have to have it. I do drink Diet Coke once in a while too.. or occasionally some tea..but usually just drink water.

I agree with you water is the best drink. It even hydrates you. Nothing is better than water. Plus water is the cheapest beverage you can get.
