Guess what? the washing machine works WITHOUT the technician doing anything but turning it on - I feel like a complete idiot. I tried the rinse action several times on the day, the next day and even yesterday and it still wasn't draining. Then as soon as he touches the switch it starts to drain LOL He says it happens to him all the time.
Has this ever happened to you? Boy do I feel silly today! LOL Thank God my husband is laughing his head off too because $59 is a lot of money that just went down the drain.

We all make mistakes like this. This is why I told you that I like to tinker with things myself first. I call a tech as a last resort. My friends don't understand me when I do this, but to me it never hurts to play around with stuff if there is already a problem. What I will do is, switch a knob. If that does not work, I switch it back to where it was before. I keep doing this until it works or I am ready to completely destroy the entire thing. Which, for me takes a while. God blessed me with the gift of perseverance and I thank him for that.

Ha ha! The same thing happened to my friend. She was so embarrassed! The guy told her it happens a lot though. My grandma had a similar problem with the electricity. They thought the breaker was messed up because many of their lights weren't working, but it turned out they needed some new bulbs!! She said she wanted to crawl under something. The electrician told her it wasn't the first time that had happened.

haha that is funny. I;m beginning to think there is actually something wrong with it because guess what? its doing the same thing again today - it won't drain the water out so I let it sit for a while and tried again, and nothing. I don't know whether I should call them in again as it might just come right again.

That is sad but funny. I can't believe that it cost you that kind of money for them to look at it and turn a button. Why wouldn't it work when you tried? I hate things like that.

I asked the technician that and he just shrugged his shoulders and said that maybe it just unclogged itself?!?

Sometimes you have to let the washing machine rest for several minutes to several hours, if it burns out. Also this can happen if you overload the machine. Use large loads sparingly. Check the machine fully too, sometimes it is a switch you probably forgot was on there. Other times, check the fuse, I've seen some people mess that up too.
Well, at least you learned something Maddy :D
No, no I'm not laughing *chuckle* *chuckle*

I guess you have to know what button to push. I never had it happen to me. What kind of machine do you have, by the way? We had to take our drier apart because the on and off switch no longer worked and now we learn that it only lasts every eight years. Well it is longer than our Maytag where all the coins left in th pants dropped into the lint slot and stopped the machine.

I'm not sure on the make and model but its one of those ones that has the dryer attached to the top of it (mostly suitable for apartments). It seems like its fairly old but I'm not so sure considering we are renting the apartment and it was already here. Next time I'm going to try and figure it out for myself (well try that is)

I had that happen with my old car. It stalled and wouldn't start. I walked home two miles in the rain...no cell, no service here even if I did have one at the time. When we finally went bak to haul it home he got in and started it right up and drove it home. Never did figure out what was wrong with it. I wasn't out any money but a two mile walk in the rain for nothing must count for something!

It happened to me too. There was laundry in my washing machine. When it has already ran a full circle, I noticed that there is still water inside and was not draining out when it should be. I know by then it was broken. Since I didnt have the money to call for repair, I didnt use it anymore. I handwashed all my laundry for almost a week. It was so tiring when you are so used to the convenient of a washing machine. Then I thought why not just put my laundry into my broken washing machine and after that I will just rinse my laundry by hand. And guess what, just like a miracle, the washing machine just got repaired by itself!

Got to love it, dont you just wonder why things happen to you. Man the technician had the magic touch just call it like that and keep swearing that it really didnt work. ha/ha LOL!! well that was an easy one for the tech he made some quick money just by showing up huh!! well thats how life is and we just got to learn how to deal with it. Next time have your hubby see whats wrong and if he cant ffigure it out then you'll both feel dumb,..

hahaha magic touch alright! I kept telling him that I know it wasn't working yesterday when I tried it again. I wish I knew what to look for though when it comes to fixing things like that. Next time I'll make sure I take a good look at it before calling anyone in to help. Thanks for your response cinchimo.

Oh, man!! I am soooo glad it's not just me!!!! Usually as soon as we call the tech to come out, whatever it is that we were having a problem with starts to work right. Then we wonder if we should cancel the tech call or just let them come out. You know if we cancel the tech call it will stop working that same day!!!

It could happen to anyone in our busy world! We just had to replace our refrigerator. The fridge part was warm, but the freezer was still working. We went out, picked out a beautiful one (don't you love new appliances) and when we got home my husband decided to get down on the floor- after pulling out the old one as if he was going to fix it! I said "Why bother now, we just purchased a new one!" He knew it wasn't worth fixing, the sales man told us that at the store.
