Don't worry about that,my friend. We share some info about ourselves but it is not secrets,we can talk to any other friends about it in our real life.We come here to make more friends. This website must be a commercial one,and all its duty is to make money.I don't think it'll do harm to its users.
Have a good weekend!

I don't know. It'd be interesting to know. Especially with the thread deletion mania. I'm betting the admins agree with a key block of members and everyone else is out in the cold. Post long enough and you might see it.

I have written the support team and have had responses each time. Maybe I am lucky!
I think the site is as safe as any other site. Two things I won't do is post my address or phone number on MyLot or for that matter, on any other site. But, there are ways to get it. I'm very careful not to mention any family members names, where they work or where they live. I always refer to one child as being "out of state." That covers alot of territory.
I discuss topics on the site that I wouldn't care if my kids, husband, co-workers or friends read since I have nothing to hide. On the other hand, I like my privacy and won't share intimate stories about my married life or financial situation. After having said the above, I do have my social security number on my driver's license..........lol That soon will be a feature of the past and eliminated from our state's system.
My suggestion is to enjoy the site, feel free to comment about whatever you like but be safe at the same time.
Have a great weekend,
carolbee

Thanks for good ideas about security!!One of our the best family friends who work for Interpol told me that worst thing as we work when we use Internet ,is when we put our children pictures on a site!!After that time I erased all grand kids pictures!!We have to think about security for our kids!!Warm regards Silvana

The best way to find the owner of a program online is to do a domain registration search, which several people have and posted their results in similar discussions here. However, not all the information they gave is correct, so it is best to do your own search. But your hubby is right, not only regarding myLot but any online community. One should be very careful what personal information is given out in online discussions. That is to say, anything you would not want posted on a billboard in front of your house is personal information, lol.

I do not know who the administrators are either. A couple of weeks ago I sent an e-mail to the support people and I also never received any response from them. Thank goodness it wasn't something really important. I don't think we are in any real danger here but at the same time you probably shouldn't write anything that you wouldn't want the world to know LOL,
I think you can have a really enjoyable time on Mylot and it is so interesting to read other peoples opinions. I put my 2 cents worth in when I feel the need. But I am pretty selective on the discussions I respond to. So just be careful, but enjoy.

I have no clue who's behind myLot, or who "safe" we are discussing things here. I don't give out too much information - I've given out more info to guys at bars, and I think that's a bit dangerous too... You can be stalked anywhere, not just on the net... Just be careful and selective in who you talk to.

Yup, anything you post can be found somehow. I'm probably not as paranoid as I should be though...

I guess I don't think I'm in any more danger posting on myLot than I am doing anything online or talking on my phone or even sending something through the mail. Our privacy isn't guaranteed these days and if someone wants our information they can probably get it easily enough. I don't give out any personal information here, as far as my address or phone number, but I don't think there's much to worry about here. Great topic, though!

Hello aaidjs!(",)
I was curious at first but I was thinking that mylot admin is a group of people joined together by one cause. I once sent a message to them requesting to delete my multiple entry of the discussion I started. Days later I got the respond and the admin did delete my multiple entry. I think with the increasing population of mylot they are not able to cater to all our needs and they need to prioritize what to do first.
I don't think that we are endanger when we share informations here. Just enjoy the site. Have fun and stay positive always!
Take care and God bless!(",)

Hi Silvana. I dont know who owns the site but I have made contact with the suport team 2 times so far. Your husband is right in a way I do choose what I write and who I write it to when I give my personal info as you newer know who can read it. I have to trust someone very much to give them my info. All the best
