Can anyone help me with this one?
I installed W2k on a PC that was running W98 SE so as to dual boot, then decided to remove W2k.
Now, in my Windows folder, I've got a load of files called, for example, $NtUninstallKB873339$
Can I just delete these?
I've got a load of stuff I don't want to risk losing if a delete goes wrong...
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Try setting up a restore point if possible. If not, be sure to back up your best and most important files on CD/DVD and/or external hard drive.
These kinds of files are backups of your system's files. They were replaced by newer ones when you did your windows update on the machine. It might be good to keep them just in case. I'm not too sure but sometimes these things are hidden and compressed by windows.

Best advice I can give you is to go through the hassle of going to Microsoft and researching that file name and its significance and/or research how to un-install Win2K. If you have time on your hands though, I would highly recommend going to C-Net.com and either go through the discussion boards on un-installing Windows programs or just join C-Net(it's free) and post the your question there. LOTS of great info there, both from users and experts, on how to do just about anything with any computer. Good luck to you!
