What type of fruit would you add to your salad?

My favorite fruit topping for veggie salad, would be apples. I have tried pineapple on veggie salad and it tastes weird. Too tart! But, apples absorb the flavors of the dressing nicely. Recently, I put watermelon in my salad and that was nice too. I've never tried grapes, but the idea is making me hungry.
I've used canned tomatoes and that tastes good. Tomato is a fruit, so I guess that counts. What type of fruit would you put on your veggie salad? Do you think there's one fruit you would never put in a vegetable based salad?

Tomatoes, pears and apples are pretty good. Bits of oranges are also a good choice on a salad.

Well, I like cucumbers, tomatoes, avocados, pineapple, grapes, apples, even oranges in my salads. Grapefruit is nice too if you like them. When I make salads, I put all kinds of things on them. If I like the fruit by itself, I will probably like it on my salad too. If berries count, dried cranberries and blueberries are really good too. Strawberries work well with some dressings but not ranch. I like cantaloupe and honeydew in my salads too. Ok, I like just about all fruits in my salads.
I really like pineapple and jalepenos with ranch dressing on iceberg lettuce. It is really good.

I tend to just throw everything in together, so I cannot think of anything that I would not put on a salad. I like pineapple, grapes, mandarin oranges, apples, tomatoes, berries. Berries are really good in a big spinach salad. It is a hungry thought, I agree.

I've had strawberries.
Cucumbers are good on salads and like the tomato it is also a fruit. I've had the apples on the salad too. I've had watermelons and grapes. I've pretty much had all the different types of salads and stuff because I'm a huge nerd about salads.

Apples are a good addition, and so are mandarin oranges. Mmm. I also like dried cranberries on my salad, with crumbled feta cheese. Man, now I'm hungry!

I love to add little mandarine oranges in my salad. It gives the slad a citrus flavor, and adds a sweetness. It's pretty delicous especially if you sprink alittle sunflower seeds with that. Trit sometimes :P

well the only thing i would put into that kind of salad would be tomatoes and ofcourse your lettuce, carrots etc.but my grandmother makes a sald with jello and stuff.1 lg. pkg. lime jello
2-3 raw carrots, grated or shredded
1 lg. apple, shredded (peeled or not, as you like it)
1-2 stalks celery, finely chopped
1 lg. can mandarin oranges, drained
Sour cream or mayonnaise (optional)
Prepare jello according to package directions in a large mixing bowl. Chill until jello begins to set. Add carrots, apple and celery to jello and mix well. Pour into mold or bowl. Chill until firmly set.
To serve, unmold and garnish with sour cream or mayonnaise. Top generously with mandarin oranges.
this is something that i tried but i dont like it but so many people do.

well, try the kiwi it's rich in vitamin C and it's good for our health. and you can put also some cube cheese in your salad to create a bit of saltiness in it. I already try it and it taste perfect.

I guess I'm not very adventurous, because I don't think I would like any fruit except tomatoes on a veggie salad. I do eat salad at least 4 times a week, but it's pretty boring. I just eat romaine lettuce, small pieces of carrots, tomatoes, a little cheese, and ranch dressing. Sometimes I also use croutons and/or bacon bits.
Ranch is the only salad dressing I like, and just thinking about it with most fruits makes me feel sick.

i'm not into veggie salad but i like fruits. I would sliced up bananas and basically any fruit that's available in the kitchen and drizzle a little of salad cream and it's done. I don't use canned fruits for my salads. I always believe fresh is the best.
