Well I know that I had already said what I was making for Thanksgiving dinner, but honestly I had to make some changes because some of the people that were coming (family you know how they can get) couldn't eat certain things or some cancelled and said they would come for Christmas which is not a good idea because I will be having a baby on December 27th. So here is my menu revised:
Ham
Turkey w/gravy
Potato Salad
Collard Greens
Macaroni and Cheese
Deviled Eggs
Corn
Cornbread
Sweet Potatoe Pie
Apple Pie
What will you be preparing for Thanksgiving? Do you even really know yet? An do you have any suggestions as to recipes for making certain items on my list.

We will be having
Turkey with stuffing
Mashed potatoes
Turkey gravy
The usual relishes:pickles, olives, etc
Deviled eggs
Dinner rolls
I can't make a pie to save my life, so I buy Pumpkin Pie and bake it.
Even though it is just the two of us for Thanksgiving, I still like to cook. I just take the left-overs and make homemade TV dinners with them. Then we can have Thanksgiving for months! :)

Mac & Cheese! I didn't know anyone else did that for Thanksgiving but us!
I'm vegetarian, so is my younget brother, my 2 other brothers are strict vegans... so you know that no turkeys get eaten around here!
We never know what we are going to have, as we never plan it ahead. Sometimes we cook at home, sometimes we say to heck with the mess and go to an all-you-can-eat resturant. Sometimes my mom cooks. Sometimes I cook. Sometimes we both cook. We are farmers so most all of it came out of our garden.
Traditionally we usually serve the same basic thing every year:
home-made rice and mushroom stuffing
mashed potatoes (our own)
home made (and home grown) stew made from potatoes, turnips, cabbage, carrots, pearl onions
corn on the cob (our own)
steamed beans: green, wax, purple, & Indian Runners (our own)
home made rolls with store-bought butter
mac&cheese (from scratch, not a mix)
mushroom gravy
cranberry sauce
Pumpkin cheesecake
pumpkin pie
apple pie
blueberry pie
jamwitch-pillow cookies
This year however, we are still not back together after the fire, so we are right now without a kitchen to cook in (or a house to put a kitchen in, for that matter), so most likly we are going to head to a resturant this year.

I think you already had a nice plan but if you still need for the big events like these you can add fish dish on eat and more salad, fruit and vegetables are wonderful.

We are having a basic Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing, A few kind of pies, Corn, Yams and marshmellows (Kids favorites). That is all I know for sure for now. A few years ago we got tired of the family fighting over where we were having Thanksgiving so we began celebreating with just the 4 of us. It has been so great! I am looking forward to it.

Well the way we have done it in year past, each year a different family member has the holiday dinner at their home, and they make the turkey. Everyone else is assigned a dish by the one hosting that year. Of course, one is in charge of bread, tators, veggies, etc. So it is between the host and the person they assign whatever. But my favorite is turkey with pepperjack rolled up and sliced. Yummy.
Oh and lil cheddar smokies in bbq sauce.

First of all, congrats on the baby and best of luck to you! For my Thanksgiving I get to have not one, but two huge feasts...not that I need them. Our tradition in recent years has been a bit unusual. My daughter, who is married with two kids, has a traditional meal at her house and my husband and I, my daughter's in-laws and usually a few other relatives eat there around 1-2 pm. We usually have turkey and stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, baked beans, corn, cole slaw, sweet potatoes, biscuits, pickled eggs, deviled eggs and several desserts. Kristie (my daughter) does most of the cooking, with quite a bit of help from my son-in-law but her mother-in-law, Diane, and I usually contribute a dish or two each. The egg dishes - pickled for Diane, deviled for me - are always ours and we take turns with some of the other sides and we usually both take a dessert of some kind. I stay with my mom who turns 91 five days after Thanksgiving but my brother always comes in from New Jersey and he makes spaghetti sauce to die for (maybe it would about kill some, it's very, VERY hot and spicy but we love it!) so, strange as I'm sure it seems to some, that's what's served at my mom's on Thanksgiving. As for recipes...I've got lots of them so if you'd like a recipe for something you're making just ask and I'd be glad to help if I can! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving and Christmas my mama does the cooking but the kids pitch in. She always has turkey, ham, stuffing, all kinds of cakes and pies, rice, mac and cheese, so much to mention. However we are all pleased when the dinner is over. Its so delicious. Oh I cant wait until Thanksgiving now. YUM. By the way congrats on the baby.
