Do you sometimes have a hard time starting your day?

I overslept this morning and here it is almost noon and I just can't get myself going. I'm on my 3rd cup of coffee and usually after my 2nd I'm ready to go. This is one of the reasons I got my part time job. It gives me the incentive to get up, dressed and out of my apartment. Since I'm only working 2 days a week those other 5 days stink for me. This morning I sat here looking at my monitor and reading responses to my discussions and didn't even have it in me to start responding to them. One of the psych pills I take in the morning usually helps me with this problem but that doesn't even seem to be working today.
Do you have mornings like this? Is there something you do that will give you that "boost" that you need to get going?

Last week I was so ambitious on monday, doing 500 different things and then the next day I was blah... not wanting to do a darn thing ever since I woke up. I was frustrated will my lack of motivation as I was so focused the day before and wanted to keep it going. I hate when I get like that. Today I had pep when I woke up but burnt out by the time 10:00 am hit. Grr!

I've had a few days where I've felt like a tornado and then of course the next day I'm also burned out. It's tough when we get burned out so early in the morning isnt' it? Such a waste of a day.

It happens to me frequently and I'm usually on a down-low when this happens. Sometimes I can't do anything to get me going until my son comes home from school around 3.20pm, I have no choice but to get up and get going because he needs me. Some days I just force myself to get up, out of my pjs and moving - even if it is just taking the trash out, checking our mail, sitting on the couch or tidying/cleaning the house. Sometimes I need an energy drink to get me going - vitamin water is what usually works for me.

When I find it hard to get goin in the morning, ctry, sometimes I will go to one of my favorite game sites and spend a little time there. It does help to settle my mind and give me focus. At other times, I will go through all of my backed-up email(which is usually boring), but it's a job that I really don't like and I am usually so eager to get it over with that I am refreshed, lol.

I get like that when ever i do to much. It helps to just slow down and take a break. Some days i just want to crawl back into bed and try to start my day again the next day. When i need a boost in the mornings i feel blah i usually have a good breakfast. It tends to make my energy level go up.

I know exactly how you feel lol because I feel like this almost everyday, I am not a morning person at all so I find myself oversleeping for work just about everyday, Good thing my job is lenient about that because I probably would have lost my job a long time ago if I had a strict boss. Im sorry I dont have any suggestions for that because I still struggle with this till this day.

Yea I have days like that myself...not often mind you but I definately do have those days where I just can't seem to get the hang of it...More so in the winter and cold months though, very rarely in the summer/warm months
do I have something that gives me that "boost"? LOL yea, goin back to bed til the following morning ;-) Seriously though, no...I just usually end up coasting for the day and accomplishing not a whole hell of a lot :-/

Hi there ...
As for me, I am not hyperactive, it usually takes me long time to leave my bed, have a shower then head 2 work. when I wake up, I don't usually like someone speaking with me and expecting me 2 reply until I go rinse my face. I don't feel totally awake until i grab something 2 eat. I don't go 4 heavy breakfast usually. That's the norm. BUT lately I am not experiencing my norm, sometimes i wake with strange feeling of depression or not just a feeling of not being the norm. Dunno why is that but maybe stresses or whatever but it certainly doesn't feel good. Generally It takes me long enough 2 start my day that I have struggle hard not get late 2 work.
Thank you for the interesting topic

Mornings are my favorite time of the day so I don't have a problem getting up. I usually get up around three to start my day. My husband gets up around four to go to work five days a week, on the other two I am lucky to get him out of bed before seven. I have three young children, they are usually up by six thirty at the latest. I get a lot done my getting up a few hours before the children.
My problem is I start to fall asleep around nine at night. Which can be difficult because my daughter is usually still up for another half an hour or so.

Oh gosh YES!! lol I don't do mornings and I always say "don't talk to me till I've had my cup of coffee and maybe not even then" lol I'm just not a morning person. I had a friend visit and the first thing she did in the morning is cook herself some breakfast. YUCK! I can't eat first thing. I have to wait a few hours then I can eat. Coffee is my boost. :)

I am currently suffering from depression, and I should have gone back to work last week but for some reason, I can't seem to be able to motivate myself to do anything!
I get out of bed and I just cry. It's so hard for me to even jump in the shower and get dressed!
I used to love going to work full time, I love rushing around and being stressed out! I used to thrive on it. Now though, I'm a mess. I can't even get myself to go to the corner shop anymore.
I know I need to get myself out of this state, but for some reason, I simply can't.
I know I'll get there eventually, but it'll take time. Just not too much time, I hope!
