CNN this morning had New York Governor Spitzer on, who is under fire for his plan to give illegal immigrants NYS driver's license. After showing a clip of Lou Dobbs going at him about voter fraud, Spizer side stepped the question about whether this license would give illegal immigrants the right to vote. He did not say- "NO". He said that this is not about voter registration. HE AGAIN DID NOT SAY NO!
He needs to spell out for New Yorkers how we are going to protect ourselves from having the 08 election taken away from us by the vote of thousands of illegal immigrants across the state. I am a Democrat and quite frankly I feel that this democratic leader is betraying our trust here in New York. It makes me sick that I voted for him.
There is no plan in place to train polling personnel on how to tell the difference between the licenses. This is going to cause mass confusion at polling stations.
This to me is about the vote in 08. It's systematic sabatoge!
I don't understand why none of the candidates are jumping on this!

I actually watched Lou Dobbs when he was absolutely livid with anger about this issue. I agree with him! And to think that Lou Dobbs says he is a Republican. But he really speaks to what is going one and this is outrageous! We know that the Supremen Court elected George Bush, now will have the possibility of illegals voting. Who will they favor? And dont get me started on national security! In another year or so we will have "national" driver licenses which will be our state license but will be put into a national data base. Our politicians have gone nuts! Thanks George!!

The Supream Court said it was a state decision. Every recount in Florida including the ones the newspapers did gave the vote to Bush.
If you are concerned with a National ID card and a national data base just think what information they will have when the government controls your medical records?

You are right itis all about giving illeagls theright to vote. As one person also pointed out it would give them access to good paying jobs that US citizens are doing. With the drivers license they could get jobs as Truck Drivers, and Cab Drivers. It will also serve as one form of identification for securing a job. This is another attempt to make the legal - back door aministy.

This whole thing makes me sick. Tennessee tried something liket his not too long ago and it didn't work. This whole plan has so many negative ramifications that it's not even funny. From homeland security right down to driving the cost of insurance up. And the thought that illegals would have the right to vote?! I was always under the impression that voting was a right that was provided to citizens of this country ( even when it should be looked at as a privilege). How would it be viewed if Americans went to other countries to vote in their elections?
Driving is a privilege, and I for one am not likeing Spitzers idea. I can't even put my mind around the reasoning behind it, except for the election issue.
George Carlin was on Glenn Beck the other night and made the remark that the US is slowly "circling the drain". Stories like this just prove he's right.
