I think that its about time people stopped blaming whites for being racist all the time just cos its an easy excuse, i think that blacks are much more rasict and are allowed to get away with it, im not personaly racist i just think that to be equal we first have to think of racism coming from both sides equally and not to blame whites all the time for it! What do you think of this ?
pls reply cos i would really like to no wot ppl think on this cops its been bugging me for years thanx

This question itself is asking people to make generalisations for a whole group of people, and that is pretty close to racism. Yes there are some white racists and yes there are some black racists but there are also some non racists of either colour.
all the best urban

I am not quite sure where you live, but where ever it is, move. not quite sure what circle you hang out, but wherever and whoever with, change them. I have seen good times and bad times while growing up and i have never heard a black person call any white person directly or indirectly any racist slur in my presence unless it was targeted first or in retaliation.
NOW two wrongs don't make a right, we know that.
but black people didn't ask to come here, they were asked, begged, invited butter it up as much as you want, but instead of reading what king henry did to his wives and stating it as history, lets all take the bus to the library and read up on some true history and look at some real live feeds, when teddy boys were using black people for football practise and the police would at times join in. the Sus law was indirect racism as it was an excuse to drag your butt out of your vehicle under the umbrella of the Sus law and humiliate you in public and nothing could be done about it.
i have come across a few racist individuals in my time, in some cases i gave as good as i got because i was angry and didn't know better, and most of all because it dam hurt. but i have matured now and have used diplomacy as a heavy handed skill. how many racist out there that have maimed, killed, done the unspeakable under the regime of blatant racism, and maybe to this day have still not being found out.
Would those same racist regardless of creed or colour kill their own son or daughter if they found out that it was the blood of the very person they were persecuting for years that had just save their child's life?
If you wanna show a racist some kinda light take him to the cemetery and show him to graves, when he has gotten over the fear of realising that he hasn't been taken their to join the dearly departed, point to two graves side by side and ask him to pick out the one that's black.
let me shout from the very mountain top that the good martin Luther king spoke about. racism will never be abolished in the true way that we would like to see it and that goes for black as well as White, but across the globe to all those that have experienced it, let me say that those who are dishing it out, their off spring will grow in the same light and with the same intentions. but by the time they come of age to utilise it, god himself will have utilised a plan where white people as well as black will not have forgotten racism in an ideal world, but will have learnt to tolerate each other in a perfect world.

These are all very true & well educated/ing comments. Thank you I couldn't have put it better myself. I have never actually had to exchange comments but I have had white people make comments about black people and I had to retort them. Once I was in a Soc. Class and 4 different groups do presentations about how black people are basically on welfare or taking the spot of a white person who would have been able to go to college if it were not for Afirmative Action. They made it seem like the college was getting bums off the street and that being black was the only reason they were being let in. However I know that there just used to be (Afirmative Action was struck down resently in my state) some points that were added, not much unlike the points that many white people were getting for being a "Legacy" ie someone in their family attended the college. I don't really think that is fair because, for example I was the first person in my family to attend college. I don't mean that I was the 1st generation that was allowed to go or anything, don't get me wrong. I is just that I think that legacy points are sort of like profiting on past racism. Why give points for a persons' family being able to go to college for generations that dates back to when some people were not even allowed to go to the college? I tried to explain to the class that the people who were getting into schools were not idiots or something, I was 16th in a class of over 100 people. I was so hurt & offended that I couldn't express myself in the way I wished to because I was fighting off tears.

Dude, okay yes blacks can be more racist than white but you have to understand many of black are always going to be on the defensive from past experiences and present experiences with white. I know you think racial crimes were in the past and shouldn't be blamed but news flash it still happens but not as much. But when it does it's just like throwing gas on a fire. It may have been dying down over the years but it still happen. Maybe not so violently like the old days when many whites lynched black people for no reason or burned many people alive but the scars are still there. You will never know because you wre on the other side. So you don't have a clue. I know you're probably thinking well don't blame me for the past but many blacks are going to stay on the defensive side. Especially in the southern states. So yes we can, but whites can be as well. They are just more quiet about these days because society HAS changed over the last few decades.

No I think that is just an exuce that black people have been through alot.
I believe that was in the past and that the present is what counts.
Maybe people treat "blacks" in a way because they/yall still think you are in the past and use those experiences in your present.
I just find that to be always an excuse to be a way that is not supposed to e. Just my opinion. Thanks!

I totally agree with you when you say that blacks are more racist!!!!! I am not racist but I'm tired of them feeling sorry for themselves. This is America and they have the same opportunity as anyone else does!

Blacks are more racist than whites and they do get away with it more! It's taboo for a white person to act prejudice but when blacks are prejudice it's like they've 'earned' the right to be so without being questioned. Look at Michael Richards; everyone got down on him for his racial slurs while the fact that it was wrong for the people who heckled him was over-looked. Why was it alright for these black people to disrupt a show and the remaining audience? You can't expect to be treated with respect if you can't show it!!! Now, they'll probably sue Richards and win, which only gives the message that this is 'rewarded' behavior. Richards made his apology, but have his hecklers? Booooooooo Hissssssssss!

Let me guess blacks are also lazy and are taking up space that some white person could really make some good use of. I am so offended by this! First of all being racist means that you think your race is superior & or that another race is inferior. Now what is sounds like is that you think that feeling that someone hates you is racist and you are wrong. Why is it that every time a black person says something it is an excuse and not just the way they feel. Black people should be able to express themselves without someone saying get over it & stop making excuses. What makes certain people so much more important that they can just tell you to get over something & you are expected to never speak of it again. If I don't want to hear something I just don't listen.
