How can I earn money from my photographs?

Beached - I took this picture when I was camping at Shell Island. I had the time of my life!! I thought I had died and gone to Heaven!

I love to take pictures at the beach. My pictures are so beautiful, I wish I could figure out how to make money from them. The beach is my passion, and I love capturing it on camera. I also enjoy taking black & white pics. They just seem to have a different feel to them. It's like black and white makes 'feel' something toward the picture. Does that make sense? Anyway, if anyone has any insight on this, I'd love to know what you think. I am soooo deep in debt, I'm trying anything and everything to earn money, doing stuff I enjoy. Check out my blog to see my debt, and some of the things I am working on. Thanks.

You could start designing your own notecards. Leave the inside blank for people to write personal notes. Your pictures would make the front cover design. If you have a website, you could promote them there. You may also want to contact local gift/card shops.

Also, check out zazzle.com you can design notecards there and people can purchase them, you getting the commission. That way you don't have to pay a bunch of money to get them printed ahead of time ($$ investment to sell them) and you get your work out there. The best part? Its free!! You set up the gallery and if no one buys anything you aren't out any money.

Right now, I am using a Sony Cyber-shot. One of those super slim cameras. (I think my cell phone is bigger than the camera) I really love the camera, because I can take it with me anywhere, without being bogged down with a lot of weight and equipment. It takes great pictures! If I can make money from my pics, I will probably invest in a better camera, but it will be harder to carry with me everywhere. This one, I keep in my purse.

Lots of places buy photos from people for post cards, magazines, Gift cards, websites, and more. There is a site that will teach you how to make money with your photos. I have the URL to this website, but rules here at Mylot forbid me to post it. If your blog link is in your profile I will leave this URL in your comment box.

I would recommend doing some research on print and online magazines - often there are amateur sections and some magazines will pay for pictures. Look into selling pictures to companies that do stock photography for magazines. At the library or any bookstore you should be able to find a book similar to "Writer's Market" (the bible for writers) entitled "Photographers Market" (I think) - it's an excellent book listing hundreds of sources for making money with your pictures. Another option is of course selling them as note cards (as someone else also suggested) - contact any coffee shop or store that sells post cards, maybe even the local bookstores (don't forget college book stores). You can also blow them up to larger prints to sell at art fairs, do a display in any store, bank, coffee shop etc that does exhibits. The main way to make money is simply to have a high quality camera and taking good pictures - there are tons of ways to actually sell them. Best of luck!

I do not have an idea of what quality pictures you have taken. To sell the specialized photographs (thematic wise), you may please contact international publishers. They do use and pay quite handsomely. In internet, there is an website called sharepic.com But I am not sure how much they pay. In mylot you can use the pictures when you reach 500 posts. Thanks and wish you a happy life.

You can post them on the "interests" section, aside from uploading them on every post you make. You just have to be more descriptive as possible, as this will be tabulated also on your earnings. You can earn here initally by posting, just continue putting out your best and post in QUALITY all the time for you to earn more. Also, try checking out this link from mylot's discussion about earnings through photos: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/276129.aspx

Well on here you can post them with your discussions to make money. I know it's not much just a few cents here and there, but hey it's something!
