What is your view on the upcoming Tri Core? For me, I'm not getting the Tri core, however, I would make use of the price wars to get a intel core 2 duo, probably a 2.2ghz or so. By over clocking it to about 3.0ghz, It would surely serve me needs =)
How about you? Would you go for the Tri core, or perhaps, even the Quad Core?

Tri Core will arrive in 2009.
It is said that it is 45nm based CPU with a new type of socket probably AM3. It will support DDR2 and DDR3 and HyperTransport 3.
I think you will be able to buy a good processor from Core 2 Duo Q series.

2009?! Thats too late. I'll go for a Duo Core if I'm changing, maybe a second hand one. Then when the price war arrives, a Quad Core can be obtained cheaply =)
PS: I'm still stuck with an Intel 1.6ghz =(

I don't think AMD will have some great time with this new idea..as of now AMD is behind INTEL's core 2 Duo and as per some reviews also behind INTEL's Quad core...so I don't think AMD will put up a challenge to Intel with their new ideas...but one thing which has helped AMD over years is the price factor. So if AMD can price it comparatively..then things can change.
