What ever happened to freedom of speech?

Here is the question I would like to get an answer to. Why is it that the people who respond to a discussion that MYlot deletes hours or even days later punished by taking away pay for that response? It took us time to respond and I don't think it is fair for them to do that. Doesn't our opinion count? Or is it they don't want the truth to be known? I see no reason to do this to the responders. What ever happened to freedom of speech?

I think someone posted messages that violated the rules of mylot. I think you should send a email to mylot to ask why deleted these messages.
Alough it seems like mylot did harm to freedom of speech, it is normal in our country's internet. I always posted messages on a BBS in my country but it deleted many messages of mine because I talked about politics. Comparing with my country's BBS, mylot is much better. I feel freedom in this place.

Unfortunately, Kowgirl, the cyber world isn't subject to the laws of the land...unless it involves the SEC or something. Webmasters have the same rights as club owners. They can bar folks for any reason. Their house their rules, etc.
Not fair, I totally agree.
What we can do about it, I don't know.
I remember a few months ago when many of us were getting posts deleted for talking about Yuwie. I was hollering fascism and other folks just downright quit coming here.
I have too many friends here to leave altogether...if I had left, I would not have met you, lol.
Good post.
Totally legitimate complaint.
The responders shouldn't be docked when the originator broke a rule...but, their house, their rules.

I think freedom of speech is a great thing but I also think some ppl have no manners. I had someone leave a rude nasty remark on one of my discussions and MyLot thankfully just removed that one response.
I've also seen discussions where the whole discussion is one big war zone...there is no way to salvage it.
Then there are discussions where ppl purposely start a topic that they know are no-no's.
I think here at MyLot there is a fine line between freedom of speech and respecting other ppl. They (the admin) try to keep it a peaceful place where ppl can come with out it being a war zone or ppl being hateful and mean to each other.

Freedom of speech doesnt exist anymore, anywhere. We are told it is our right, but everyday we see it being taken away, and eventually we wont be able to say anything that disagrees with the majority.

Nowadays,we are forced to say something flattering to others, that is people, always looking for the good. But, in another respect, when we say something good to others, we ,ourselves in fact feel wonderful. So, save your anger, and try to speak your opinion in a more acceptible way.
