No, lol, I'm not talking about live mamals. I'm talking about good dinners for a chilly and rainy fall evening. I'm thinking (at the suggestion of my daughter) of making grilled chease sandwiches and tomato soup. Or maybe chilli and corn bread. Does this kind of waether get ou craving a meal like this?

When its cold out I always want to make warm thing to eat. Grilled cheese and tomato soup sounds really good. Do you use milk and butter in your tomato soup? If not you should. It makes the soup richer and creamy! Very good! We had home made beef vegtable soup last night for dinner.

On days like that i usually chose to make something that you have lots of left overs and something that's so good it keeps you coming back for more.
Like chilli like you said
home made spaghetti, sauce and all
my own recipe of Curry Chicken - recipe can be found in the discussion i responded to on curry dishes
lasagna home made
another home made dish all my own - carrot and potato soup, so good you never want to stop eating it, even when there's none left or your so full you can't move!
borscht
or any kind of home made stew that makes your mouth water before you've even taken the first bite!

yes, xfactor I agree on the dinner. a good hearty soup fills the bill as well.. soup on the low burner that takes most of the day ;where the wonderful fragrance is in the air all day. i have a receipe for a cabbage bases soup that has lots of other vegies in it that is real healthy. As it has no meat (you never miss it with this soup) it doesn't put on the weight either. Making meals like this at home also helps cut down on the salt ,if needed.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm makes me hungry. got to get to the store for the ingredients ~:))

Absolutely! We had grilled cheese and tomato soup Wed. night. I made taco soup recently also. And chilli is always a great cold weather choice. This weather also makes me want hot chocolate, especially if I outside at a football game or camping.

Lots of hot foods.
Chili and cornbread. Pastas. Deep dish Pizza. Well cooked gumbo and catfish.
And that's just some of it.
