So often I come upon friends or myLot users who are asking for prayers. It might be their own ill health or their life problems or perhaps it's a family mamber or a loved one. For the life of me, I cannot remember everyone or what i'm praying for and to lump it together seems like a cop out. Also, I'm not very good at praying...i can't find the words. Then I heard about the Joyce Meyer ministries. She offers a prayer request website for all who could use some prayers but don't attend a regular church. Here's the link: www.joycemeyer.org/OurMinistries/EverydayAnswers/prayerrequests I hope it helps any of you in need.

Hi Ms Tickle, I have watched Joyce Meyers on television a few times. She is a great minister, she usually has a strong powerful message to get accross to those who take the time to listen. I haven't put in a prayer request in a long time since I did it through the 700 club which later I got bombarded with papers wanting $20 or more donations a month and phone calls. Thanks for the link I will gladly check it out because I have a friend who just got out of the hospital after a month stay but still in bad shape. So thanks for the link I appreciate it alot and bless you..

Thanks, I am finding I am not liking the 700 club as much as I used to. Pat in my own opinion has become quite delusional..Especially when he thinks that people who are physic are evil and that it the physic level is how the devil communicates with people not god or for good...To me I think God gave certain people seeing gifts to be used to help others and it is not a bad thing..or anything to do with the devil. And also he has a university that says gays are only gays because they wanna be and they can be changed back with gods help..please..This man needs help.

Happy to be able to help you. I find the asking of donations quite callous and or off the wall sometimes...makes me quite anti what ever the case is. Hope your friend begins to recover and is whole and well again really soon. Hugs to you.

Some find it easy Lakota, and they are very good at it. I see books written about how to pray and so many different things we're supposed to say and do , and the way we live our lives. I feel a bit of a hypocrite sometimes cos I'm no angel or saint, my praying just doesn't flow right for me...lol. Hope you are doing good friend.

Lighting Candles, Saying Prayers - Blessings and Prayers
What a wonderful gift you have given to others by providing this link. I noticed that another link was also given for those not of the Christian faith. May I add my two cents (and I wonder why there is no symbol for the cents sign on the keyboard?) and a site that I am most fond of? I am giving the direct link to the lighting of the candles here: http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/enter.cfm?l=eng but you can also get to it from http://www.gratefulness.org (the home page), where you will find many other things this site provides~Donna

Of course! I provided a candle lighting site for another group I belong to a couple of years ago when one of us was being treated for cancer. My friend is hale and hearty now. Thank you for sharing this info and blessed be.

Hi MsTickle, Im not a really good prayer either, but I really dont think it matters how you do it, just that you do do it. I like Joyce Myers though, she is really funny and insipiring to watch. I think she has a good outlook on the bible and speaks about things that we all do on a daily basis and dont try and make herself sound righteous like Ive wathed others in her position do. She makes me feel good about being who I am. Thats some great info! Thanks for sharing, I never thought about her prayer request, I knew it was there! :) Bay Lay Gray xx

That sounds like a good idea. I do not like the idea of giving my address though. I do not mind my name, but if I do not know the real name of the person I am praying for, I wonder how it can be effective. It is like when someone asks for prayers here on myLot. For obvious reasons, they have not given their name and address, and in some cases, not even the town or city they live in, and I wonder how effective my prayers would be.

I think it's great that you came up with this wonderful idea, Ms Tickle! Sometimes it is hard to put our feelings into words, and, hey, we can never have too many people interceding on our behalves or that of friends and loved ones. I am familiar with Joyce Meyer for a long time and think she is very good at what she does.

Thanks for the heads up. I sometimes feel lost when I think of all the people that need help /praying for. It's just beyond my very limited capabilities.

That's wonderful of you MsTickle ((hugs))...yes, so often I turn to a prayer group and I have to admit though I never heard of Joyce Meyer though. The one I've always relied on are Unity..a place my great-grandmother got us all involved with. Don't ask how many times I've frantically have called them or now email my prayer prayer request. It's non-denominational as well. The link is here http://www.unityonline.org/index.htm A little more off-beat? There's a prayer group even for pagans/wiccans www.pagan-prayer.com

Hey great...thanks Pye. I suppose it would be okay for anyone to check them out just out of curiosity. I feel bad asking for stuff for myself when there are so many people in the world who are suffering; the terminally ill, people in horrific accidents, parents or wives of soldiers o/s, the hungry, the destitute.

Do not feel ashamed Tickle. I too have trouble figuring out the words both for the people that need the prayers, love and thoughts; and then there is the other side of praying and the thoughts themselves. I at least pray, think, try to comfort, I do what I can. And thank you for thinking of others and the link for others that need it. I'll still continue to assist here on mylot as needed. I might not catch everything, and I do arrive late sometimes but I'll still do what I can.
