I have alot of different feelings about racism. I don't feel that it is right, but I can understand it sometimes. There are certain things that SHOULD be considered to be racist and aren't and I don't think that is right either. They have Miss Black America, but Whites can't discriminate against blacks entering the Miss America Contest, that is racism against white people that seems to be justified. They have TV channels set up for JUST African American people, but White people couldn't do that either because they would say that was racist against them if white people did. Do you see what I mean? It shouldn't be right for ANYONE. White people don't have "White history month" either.....etc....Just a thought....

I think that there is some legitimacy to you answers. However, there are some things that I want to point out. White history month is every month in our schools. Every book that you read is told from a white american perspective. I had people tell me that I should welcome slavery because it helped me come to america. The purpose of Black History, Woman's History, Latin American History, et al. is to make a point to let people know that there are accomplishments and achievements in this country that other cultures achieve, or bought to this country. Benjamin Banneker? Frederick Douglass? George Washington Carver are names never taught in traditional school history. If it wasn't for Martin Luther King Jr., black names wouldn't come up in history books as taught in the schools.
Black television shows are often called that because white people call a show with more than two black people, or one main character "black shows". Will and Grace, Friends, Fraiser...how can these shows not have any black characters? Because they were white shows. Mainstream shows are white shows, until they add two black characters and .... well, covered that.
That said, Miss Black America, and other clubs tend to promote racism. So, there I will agree with you. I disagree with you overall concept, but I still will give you a good rating cause, well, you had a good point.

It should never be justified for any reason. God has made all of us and he sees no difference in us when we go to him in a prayer.

Man are created equal. It just happen that they have different colors and traits but they are still human with heart, brain and emotions. It does not necessarily mean that if they have other colors than those of superior color, they have no heart or brain or emotions at all, huh?

No, skin color has nothing to do with the kind of person who is inside. I always teach my Kindergarteners that the only difference between black and white is a little extra melanin in the black skin which adapted them for the hotter climates they lived in.

of course not. Skin colour doesn't make people different, at least not to the extent of one's better than another.

Of course not. Race is an artificial concept based on faulty history and biases. People are over 99% identical; skin color is based on only ten genes. Race is meaningless.

not at all! everyone is human, everyone got rights, everyone is equal.
racism is like a coin, it got 2 sides. on one, it's just some people who are too sensitive on the issue that they don't see they are actually the ones discrimating themselves. sometimes how we are treated is not at all due to our race, but due to our own behavior. on the flip side, i know there are actually racists out there and if they are, it's their lost. let them suffer for their limited world and negative thoughts and deeds!
definitely NO to discrimination. instead, let's foster equality and peace.

I don't think this is right at all. You can't judge a book by it's cover.
A lot of people are prejudgded, this can be by all sorts of influences. Think about the media, upbringing and personal experiences. Once you've had a bad experience with someone who belonges to a certain etnic group you might start to believe everyone's the same. That's not true by far. Every person should have the possibilty to show what they're made of, you can't simply just put a tag on everyone you see just by the way they look. People can be called to justice based on their acts, not their looks.
Nobody should have to pay for something someone else has done, just because they look similar.

I do not think it's right at all. People are people no matter what color or race they are. I think anyone that does judge people for these reasons are just ignorant.

No, there is no justification of racism. No one should be judged, denied equal rights, or discriminated against for skin color, religion, or culture.

If I may leave an honest response here: I think that the most racist people are the black people. In my opinion, they are. They use their skin color when it's convenient and also use it as a crutch. Why do they have a Miss Black America Pageant, Why do they have their own channel (BET), why do they have their own awards show? Can you imagine if the white people had a Miss White America Pageant??? OMG!!
(here's my disclaimer: this is just my opinion, folks. I'm not right or wrong. It's just an opinion.)

It isnt right to divide people because of any reason. Not just because of their race.
