I like dogs pretty much, even though I don't have a dog myself now. I like many breeds of them. But i think my favorite is german sheperd.
What about you? do you like dogs? what's your favorite breed? is there any breed that you like or dislike more than others ?

We usually adopt our dogs from the Humane Society and they are often large mixed breed dogs. I agree with you about having German Shepherds as among our favorites. We currently have two cross breed dogs with Shepherd in them. Cherokee our 7 year old male dog has that crossed with some Husky. I have included a photo of him. He has a wonderful nature...very loving and big a wuss. Our other female dog Tasha is going into her 16 year and her mom was a pure bread Shepherd and she has some golden lab mixed in.
Before I was married my favorite dogs were poodles. I had a toy Silver and a black and silver miniature. I like them because they don't shed. There really isn't any breed I dislike. I think a how they turn out has more to do with how they are raised than the breed itself. Socialization can do a lot to balance the tendencies that dogs have through breeding. It is often not the dogs that have to be trained...but their owners! LOL
Hope you like the photo...comments are always appreciated!Cheers,
Raia

I am really afraid of dogs and i can't really find it in me to be near them. When i was a little girl, dogs in our neighborhood used to chase me and have almost bitten me many times. So i guess, my fear them just never left me 'til now. However, I find puppies cute and cuddly but i still wont touch them. So to cut the story short, I don't have any favorite dog breed.

this is a tough one... i love dogs and there are a lot of breeds that i like. I'm especially fond of small breeds like shih tzu, spitz and pomeranian. among the bigger breed, i do like siberian husky, golden retrievers, and labrador. there are advantages and disadvantages for each breed, but what really matters is the joy that bring to us.

English Bulldogs are my personal favorite, but they're not for everybody.
They have lots of health problems (orthopedic issues, skin issues, breathing issues, etc). Honestly, I can probably only afford to have mine because I work in a veterinary office. Plus, she's also not had any MAJOR health issues in her seven years.
Why own one if they are so expensive to maintain? There's just somthing about them. I can't explain it.
I will always have a bulldog in my life.

Hello LightninStrike,
Wow, this is a toughie. There are so many wonderful breeds. Yup, Shepherds are fabulous. Yet, so are Great Danes and Jack Russell Terriers. I'm terribly fond of Lab's & Retrievers.
I guess if I had to choose, I'd choose mutts. All of our dogs are rescues, so they're mostly mixed-breed anyway. For example our Rottweiler/Hound is absolutely precious. He rather looks like a hound from hell, yet he thinks he's a little lap-dog, and is as sweet as banana cream pie.
So, that's my answer and I'm sticking to it (chuckle, chuckle). It's mutts for me!

I agree.
I once owned a Rottweiler/Boarder Collie mix and she was, by far, the brightest dog I have ever seen. I suppose when two of the most intellegent dogs breed, you're bound to get a smart dog (theoretically).
Did you know that there are tests that determine what breeds make up the "mixed breed?" Kinda cool, but they are limited in the number of breeds they profile. There are a couple of other drawbacks too, but it's a cool technology, IMO.

I like Shepherds but I prefer Border Collies, these little black and white wolves are supremely intelligent and loyal, affectionate and agile.
I don't like tiny dogs so much or the hairless ones, not so keen on dogs that drool. I don't find Great Danes very appealing.

i love chichauas i dont know how to spell it its a small dog and it can fit in your purse or handbag they are so cute i am not comfortable with the bigger breeds because they jump all over and for me they are much harder for me to handle. so all smaller dogs like chichuas and poodles and spaniels are my favorites

My favorite....... It's a tough question really. I like Danes because they're just SO cool and statuesque, Bassets because they're just so comical for me and because of that bay they have:) I'm a sucker for dogs in general I guess. Nothing beats a dog, whatever the breed, that just seems to know what you're thinking about doing, or that just tickles your funny bone in a way that you figured you'd have to speak to be able to do.
