I popped into a chat room on yahoo and have been getting non-stop IM's ever since! I was in the parenting room for maybe 3 minutes and I even have my status set to invisible. Every single one has been from a man looking for "fun", a few sickos asking if I had any little girls! I hadn't done a chat room in so long and thought a parenting one would be safe...guess it's just full of sick men looking for breastmilk and little girls.

I think its just bots.. they automatically send you those messages everytime you get in the room or even when you idle there...

No not all of these were bots and I left the room a long time ago ut they are still popping up. The things they said were really awful... the most recent one wanted me to view his "manhood" and tell him if it was big or not.

Ohh.. then well, when your in ym chatroom, if someone send u a msg and his not listed in your contacts, then you can directly ignore him! Just hit the button , right part of the message window, near the minimize button! Hope it helps!

Sigh... Terrible. Just plain terrible. It could be guys doing that for real, I'm surprised its not being stopped! Or it could be trolls just posting things to get a rise out of anyone normal or even remotely normal. At least mylot has better behavior in their parenting, pregnancy, children, had children discussion groups.

It was crazy that's for sure! And I'm still getting them even though I left the room a long time ago...at least I x'd out of it, maybe I needed to "sign out"? I don't know what was being said IN the room because the IM's were filling my screen faster than I could do anything with them. It was sick either way! Mylot does have much better behavior. Even the interest groups intended for "racy talk" don't get THAT bad usually...maybe weird at times (women with animals) but not pedophile or predator weird.

I stopped going to Yahoo chat rooms because of stuff like that. I have tried going to the Miami room (and yes, sometimes I look for "fun"), but I always, always end up chatting with some husband-craving, visa-needing Filipina who gets annoyed when I don't turn on my webcam. And the behavior of my fellow guys is just so appalling and obvious that it sickens me. Even in a Star Wars/sci-fi chat room there will be stuff like this...so I simply just work online and don't chit chat in rooms anymore.

The ones that kept asking for pics and webcams got really insistant too. I kept say no, don't have one, blah blah blah, but they just kept doing the request thing. I'm just going to stick around here and talk to talk you guys!

This is one of the reasons I stay away from ANY chat rooms. I bet we could go into a religious one and still have the same thing happen. Considering the people who usually go into them I don't think any chat rooms are safe.

That's terrible, I hardly ever go in chat rooms anymore - The last chatroom I was in was on msn, then they started charging a price to use it, so I stopped going!

This was the first time I'd tried in a long time. I've never done the MSN ones but if they charge I guess I won't be using them either.

I did finally get it all straightened out. I haven't tried a chat room in so long...and I never thought that pedophiles would prowl around "parenting" chat rooms but it all made sense after the fact.

Some of them are random BOTS, set to simply pop out when you enter a certain room eventhough you're in an INVI mode. There are also those of whom you're pertaining to, online predators who are waiting for an opportunity to relieve their cheap worldy intentions.. That's one reason why I also stopped using Yahoo and entering their rooms, I already feel that there's no privcay and security in it.

None of these seemed like bots ut I guess it's hard to tell. I don't think I'll try yahoo chats again that's for sure!

Tell me about it! And the one woman that I did actually talk to for awhile even turned weird on me and started talking about getting into the spa together *wink*wink*...so it wasn't just the men in there either.

yeah even me even you make invisible tney can still come and send you message so you need to do is before you go into the chat room change you privacy option you can find that in the messenger after you press the messenger press the privacy option and after that go to ignore list checked the box with the message like this " ignore anyone which is not in my list" so no body can send you private message even the booter if you have some friend which is not in your list even them they cannot send you message except they request 1st to add them in your friend list hope it will help:-) good day
