I watched this movie a few weeks back. I just didn't know what to feel and what to do once the movie was over. I was so taken aback by the theme and the story. There was so much of life and truth in it. And the intensity was great. It was just life breathing on the screen. Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep brought so much of intensity into their characters, which had my heart just melt. Clint Eastwood as usual is known for he meticulous direction, and obviously Meryl brings out her feminity really well. But the story line itself was so intense, I didn't know it was a book. But very rarely, somebody makes a good movie out of a book. This movie really captured my heart and had me crying through out. Even now when I think of it, I feel so emotional, I can anytime go back to the story and just pick up a few emotional moments to reminisce. All I can say is, I love this movie. Somewhere deep inside, I just feel I can connect with it. Don't what it is. But this is one movie which I felt was made very meditatively.

Wow! I so much agree with what you say about this movie. I cannot put it into better words than you have here. There is another movie that brings me to such strong feelings as well. It is called 'The Horse Whisperer'. Its a similar story in many ways but I don't want to say too much in case you have yet to see it. If you have not, it is definitely one worth checking out.

I have seen that movie and I liked it. But it's been years. I think it was directed by Robert Redford right? And was it Emma Thompson with him? I don't remember the movie exactly. I need to see it again.

Actually it is with Kristin Scott Thomas and also Scarlett Johansson when she was very young. Redford not only stars in it but is also the director. For me, the cord that connects this movie to 'Bridges of Madison County' is the unrequited love between the mother of the injured daughter and the horse whisperer who heals her. Though on the surface, the story is about a little girl's injury and how she overcomes it, the underlying story is the love that cannot be, due to moralistic circumstances (knowledge of consequences due to life experience) that dictate both lovers lives. I do hope you can chance to watch it again.

I was surprised with the amount of passion they created between them. And the four days of love, really seemed very intense, for a moment, I was taken to another place where I felt I was living every emotion. I felt it was happening to me. That's how convincingly they played the roles. Thank you.

I liked this movie. I thought they did a good job of adapting the book to the screen. It's interesting to see Eastwood in this type of role. I thought he did well but I still couldn't help but think of him as "Dirty Harry".

There was a time in my life where I very much related to the situation in this movie. So when I watched it, like you, it got to me emotionally. I have male friends who tell me this is a chick movie. To me it is a balanced piece of work that appeals to both male and female. I like what you say about it being made very meditatively. I agree.

I like this movie too, just as a fan of Eastwood, but besides the love, I prefer the western movie from him. Unforgiven the best I think, with Freeman. The original book for this movie is a short story, maybe deeper feel of book can only be catched when I getting older.
