I have been using AVG Free Edition long time ago and I feel comfortable with it because I have not encountered any problems since I installed it in my PC. I always feel secured using the AVG Free Edition. AVG Free is the most popular free solution available at no cost to home users and provides the high level of detection capability that millions of users around the world trust to protect their computers. * Easy to use, low system resources * Automatic update functionality * Real-time protection as files are opened and programs are run * AVG’s Virus Vault for the safe handling of infected files AVG Anti-Virus Free is only available for single computer use for home and non commercial use. Should you want to download it, here's the link- http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/frt/0?prd=aff

AVG is pretty good, I have it too. As a second opinion though I have Antivir. Both serve me well. But AVG is well off and the free version is pretty good.

I have norton antivirus in my computer and I think its the most reliable antivirus available in the mkt today.. Actually, the antiviruses which are available for free on the net are not full-proof.. U r bound to get problems out of them for sure.. And since, pirated versions of Norton are not working properly, its better to buy them.. I bought it recently and since then I am relived of every tension that I encountered in the past...

nod32 is the best antivirus now a days if we check the rating wise than it is at number 3, 1st is bitdefender, 2nd is kaspersky, 3rd is my personal favourite nod32 but the only reason that nod32 is at number 3 is it interface its not easy to operate for layman but i never faced any problem with it.. and i think if you can use internet than you probably no how to operate computer too you will not find any problem its features include low at memory, consumes very low disc space hardly uses any resources of your computer gets updaed itself and very frequently too so need not to worry about the growing viruses.. if ou want to download it you can easily find it on their site esset.com

Norton anti virus program is best for me, but unfortunately I can't afford it. I had it few years ago and there was no problem with my computer. Now, I use NOD which I downloaded from eMule. It is quite good. I haven't had any problems with viruses so far! Norton could be downloaded also, but it stops to work after 30 day trial period and you can't get the code, because it mass something inside the computer. Only real code work after that! If you have money buy Norton, if you don't have it try NOD or something similar. Bitdefender could be also good. Many people use it.

Just only anti-virus is not sufficient. You should have a product with all the properties. Zonealarm is the best. It has got both free and pro. For single system free is enough. so, visit www.zonealarm.com and download the free. I am using it since past one year and I have not faced any problem with my computer so far. The properties of zonealaram: 1) anti-virus. 2) Scan our computer automatically, peroidically. 3) Protects your computer totally. 4) Did nota allow spy-sites. Above all 5) It asks whether to allow or deny a site, which it feels suspecious. You can press the button allow or deny depending up on your reqirement. Please download this and protect your computer and be happy.

I have been usinG AVG for several years, and it is pretty good. Also has a scheduler to do manual scans, and a simple to use interface. Avast 4 is another free program, and it's a bit comprehensive with various options/customisation features. Both generally always have good reviews. Another program I use as a secondary measure, HijackThis, which is more spyware, but you can a quick log results to evaluate any suspicious spware running in the background...
