there are times when I just feel like staring to a blank wall and that times come when I think of something deeply. Or if I think of a problem which needs an immediate solution. It's better to stare a blank wall coz it gives you proper frame of mind.

When I'm in a just staring frame of mind I prefer to do it at a window, that way I can pretend I'm admiring the view. My cats sometimes stare at the walls too. I used to have a cat that would sit in the corner and stare intently at it for long periods of time. My uncle used to make his kids do that to punish them... "go sit in the corner" he'd say. Weird.

Believe it or not I have done this a lot! Sometimes I can be so consumed with a problem that I need to get away from the paperwork or computer because I feel like the answer is right under my nose, but I need to get away from it to see it. Or sometimes I have so many distractions that I need to just clear my head. I will turn off any music or tv and just stare at the wall.

i have a distinct memory of spending a stretch of time just staring at a wall when i was still in grade school. it was the time when i attended catechism classes led by one of our neighbors. during that period of my life, i came to understand God as a being who constantly breathes behind my neck, waiting for me to make the next mistake and tallies each on a scoreboard. each tally marking a step closer to hell.
i remember one afternoon of staring at the wall thinking that my soul was already burning in hell even if i was still alive.
