Do you still remember the moment you began writing? I vividly could recall that I was on the seashore when I started writing. My aunt taught me to write my name in the sand using a stick, and I think the moment I began writing, I was using my left-hand already.
During my parent's time, having a dominant left-hand is a no-no. My grandfather was a principal then of an elementary school, and my mom's twin sister -- who was then a left-handed, would often receive some spanking from my grandfather. And since then, my aunt would use her right hand in writing. In my case, I was just encouraged by my parents to use my left hand since I guess, they were more open than my conservative grandparents.
Also, they said that left-handed individuals are more creative. :)
Do you still recall the first time you started writing? What's your dominant hand in writing?

I cannot recall it anymore, but I believe that I used my left hand back then. Most of my relatives on my father's side are lefty, as I also believe my left hand is the most usual hand I use in almost everything up until now.
When I play basketball I use my left hand, dribbling and shooting the ball. When eating snakcs like chips, I also use my left hand. When catching an object or reaching for it, my left hand is the most I use. But I try to practice my right hand as well, since I don't want to use only my dominant left hand in almost everything. That way, I can totally be an ambidextrous.

Hey that's cool. Well, when I play badminton, my dominant hand is right. Weird, but actually, I am more comfortable using my right hand, i feel awkward with my left when holding a racket or a ball. I eat using the right perspective, when it comes to writing and sketching, i am lefty. I wonder if that makes me an ambi? :P

It really is nice to practice the not-so-dominant hand so that you can have alternative, well, when i play, we have this session where my right-handed friend would use his left, while i use my right. It's nice. I guess, the not-so-dominant hand need to just gain confidence in doing things the dominant one is more familiar with. :P

I am right-handed, but both of my parents are left-handed, interesting isn't it? But they both write with right hand, beucase when they were growing up, using left hand for writing was kinda like banned, so they have to leanr to use their right hand for writing. I remeber when we first time come to the school and teacher start teaching us letters. I was always sensitive and little bit slowly till I learn something and we had that time very bad teacher, she was always yelling at me and I was always crying. I remeber those years very good.

I am sorry to hear that you have a traumatic experience with your teacher. Anyways, I guess, it is always nice to hear that the bad teachers never prevail. I wonder why during your parents time, left-handed is banned?

I hace always been right handed for as long as I can remember. I try to practice writing with my left just in case. I always feel bad for those that injure their writing hand because they have to try using the hand they never used.

I guess, it still is best to learn how to use the not-so-dominant hand. In a way, it will help when there is injury. I remember I had a classmate who wore a cast on her dominant hand, but she learned to appreciate her other hand in the process. :)

I use right hand in writing. I and many like me use right hand for writing. We shake our right hand, we touch our forehead when we salute to some others. We use right hand to eat the meal and drink some thing to be drunk. We think that right hand is made to work with. But some few people, about 5% or less use their left hand to write as well as perform their work with the same left hand. We call them left hander. My 4 year old daughter is also left hander. People say that left hander or lucky as they become brilliants in their life time.
Yes I still remember the moment when I had started writing. My tutor had started me to write with my right hand and I am still right hander.

Not really. You still can be creative. It's just that, there's something that stopped you from using ur left. Try practicing your left, maybe, you will realize something nice like discovering that you can still have your left hand working.

Hahaha. I usually did that when I was younger borrow my classmates notebook. There was an instance where my older brother's classmate copied the writing on the board for me. :)

I've been using the right hand for writing since i can remember.
Writing is not as precise an indicator of handedness as it might seem.A person who is left-handed uses his left hand more than the right hand.Usually left-handed people use their left hand for minor activities such as writing and eating, while they use their right hand for major activities such as throwing a ball or swinging a bat.
Ther's also the 'total lefties' who use their left hand for both minor and major activities

the first time i wrote something? i dont remember but my mom told me that i wrote first time when i was 3. you will really be shocked when i will tell you how i started writing because i was also shocked when my mom told this to me. actualy i had a pen and instead of any paper there was my dad's shirt lying beside me. so i piked my pen up started scrimbling on it. so that was my first writing expirience spoiling my fathers shirt. and as the majority, i m a right handed writer!

That makes me wonder why older people do like lefty. Would you know their reasons?

I use my left hand when it comes to writing. However, I tend to do most other things with my right hand. I don't remember the first time that I began writing. I do know that the fact that I was left-handed was never a problem, though. No one tried to make me write using my right hand instead.

I think that makes us lucky. There was an article in wikipedia that said something about those lefty beings who were forced to use their right hand because of societal reasons -- they said, these beings tend to be oppressed and repressed. :P

Would you know why some parents are against the left-hand thing? I wonder if it has to do with being part of a certain religion, or is it cultural. :P

You know what?! I don't remember when I started writing but I often use my right hand. Do you have any idea what it means if you're right handed? I remember making doodles on newspapers and my mom's old nursing books, even the bible is no exception. Up to this date, I still have the old family bible. What I wrote in there are my mom's, dad's and my siblings' names.

There is a portion in wikipedia where it says that right handers use the right side of the brain to focus on the entire image, but the left side is used to know the details of the image. It also said something that right handed beings are more destrous, maybe it could mean that, when it comes to knitty-gritty stuff right handed people can be counted. Well, i still think, it's something that is universal. :P
