You would think someone would hear something and be able to stop it! How in the world would you transport 17 puppies away? stuff them in your car? This is crazy. And they think they will sell them at a flea market or something? This is really nuts. Another head shaker and eye roller!

I hope he is not finding a cheap way to run a puppy mill. And I hope he is not into dog fighting. That would be horrible. All the same, I also hope he is not one who wants the puppies to be free from captivity,i.e. the pet store! It is dangerous out there and those puppies are probably not old enough to be on their own.
Oh I hope it wasn't all those cute puppies we saw when we were at the Columbia Mall!

So why is the owner complaining? She more than likely got the puppies from a puppy mill anyways. I know that store as I used to shop there when I lived in Chicago for a few years. The animals always looked sickly to me. This was back b4 I even heard of puppy mills. Hope whoever took the pups find decent homes for them. Could be they were just trying to save them not knowing much how to go bout doing it.

Well, I'm too far behind to read the article, it isn't posted any longer. But it sounds like Cruella DeVille is on the loose again!!

I cross my fingers that they all find good homes.
I think I'm actually happier that they aren't in a pet store anymore, and I hope the animal thieves were doing it because they wanted to help the dogs, not just for monetary reasons.

Shows how idiotic dognappers can be.
But wow. The employees must not have been paying attention or something...

OKay, I have a major problem with this story. Right at the end, it says the owner said she has had several puppies stolen the same way over the years (meaning, someone has smashed the front window during the night before). Here's some brilliant ideas: Quit replacing the plate glass window and install an actual wall! Install a burglar alarm! Secure the puppies in lockable kennels at night! Or quit keeping so many dogs in the store at one (that would at least cut your losses when someone does break in). Seems if this had happened numerous times, that they would come up with a better system. Unless tye are in on it and are collecting insurance money on that thousands of $'s worth of puppies as well as on the pups sold on the black market. (but that is probably just my suspecious nature coming to the fore).

Thats hard to believe you could steal 17 puppies of of a pet store without anyone seeing anything..It must be a really congested store and tons of people around.Where we live they have all the puppies behind glass,so you cannot get to them, much less steal them....Well you know what they say locking a door does not help when it comes to theives...

I agree that the thief is most likely won't be gentle at them, because all the thief wants is money from selling them. I really hope these puppies would be found before anything bad happened to them. I'm sure that if the thief can't sell them, he would abandon or kill them just like that since he earns no money from them, even worse he may sell them cheap for dog breeders that will put them in horrible puppy mills. Why is it the owner did not take better preventive actions, this isn't the first time anyway. She could've done something about it so that it doesn't happen again
