I simply can't believe it, the postman called this morning with the mail and along with the usual rubbish and junk mail was a large white envelope. I saw down at my desk and sorted out the mail, recycling the junk mail and dumping the bills on the table before looking at this large envelope. I rather wondered if it was an early birthday card, as my birthday is towards the end of this month but, no, it was a CHRISTMAS CARD !!!!!
Almost two months early, sent by someone I barely know, containing some kind of *newsletter* which means absolutely nothing to me and sent first class post too. Just how early is this, for goodness sake. I was gobsmacked to think that this person had spent a lot of money on fancy cards, typed up a newsletter, sent all these cards first class post and actually posted them out on the 1st November according to the post mark.
Now please don't get me wrong, it is lovely to hear from people and receive Christmas/Yule cards but really this is taking the mickey. It's far too early to be getting cards into the post surely. What do you think, too early ???

Geez. Newsletter.
When I first read that you received a Christmas card, my thought was "WOW, so early!". Then I begin to think that anyone who sends a card is sweet. =)
But alas, he/she is just trying to push something to you? Bleh! :P

I suspect they are fishing for a card in return hun, the silly thing is that it is from a past acquaintance, not exactly a close friend or family member.

I can only assume that they just send out cards year after year without really thinking. I haven't really had much to do with them and not sent a card to them for a long time now. Daft isn't it

LOL to be honest I felt quite depressed about it this morning, it is too early for me to think about really. If it had been towards the end of November then I may have felt a little more festive hun, but right now I still have some of my Halloween stuff still in the porch :-)

Christmas gets early every year, pretty soon it'll move to the fall if it hasn't already! Christmas is far too commercialized, as for the early Christmas card, I think I would scream! Christmas Cards should be sent no earlier than December 1st unless they have to go abroad. What a waste sending it via first class! It's bad enough seeing christmas decorations and stuff on sale end of September. Time goes by fast enough, grrrr. I would love to send the card back return to sender TOO EARLY (in the nicest possible way naturally!) NOT...

Very true Wolfie. LOL These days the shops seem to have their Christmas stuff in by September and I feel it leads to a total overload.
I hope you enjoyed your holiday hun :-)

Anyway it is still very good to have received a nice Christmas card beforehand. I think that it must be some specially good friend of yours who sent it to you without letting you know whom it is, but have you guess it. hehe.
Let me say Merry Christmas to you in advance, dear friend.

That’s nice. I haven’t received any yet but I received a text message from a friend out of town greeting me an advance merry Christmas. Wow, I think it was sent last month and I think it’s some sort of a joke because Christmas is few months before then.

Oh my gosh! I'm totally shocked. It's bad enough that that the stores have Christmas stuff out already but I've never heard of anyone getting a Christmas card this early! I think you may have a record there. lol
I'm always behind this time of year and sometimes end up sending Happy New Year cards. It gives me something to do the week after the holidays and I'm off that week too.

I usually post my cards out during the first week of Deceember, but there are times when I'm not that organised :-)

Yeah the 1st of November is a little too early. But I do know some businesses send them out that early. Why? I don't know. But if I had to guess it might be because the post office starts to get really busy in November, so maybe they want to make sure people get them before Christmas. For me I start addressing mine at the beginning of November, but won't mail them out until the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Its too early to receive a christmas card. Christmas moods begin only after second week of december. So greetings received during this period is really exciting.

Oh that was quite early!! This could be a marketing strategy to have themselves noticed being the early bird. Anyways, It feels good to receive cards anywhere, anytime. You should enjoy it.lol..

The Christmas season seems to start earlier and earlier each year. Grocery stores stock Christmas items the day after Halloween, and this year Pop-Tarts had a Christmas commercial that I saw at least a week before Halloween this year. Keep this up, and we will be hearing about Christmas soon after New year's

LOL--I think we're all getting fed up in general how early everyone seems to be pushing Christmas --next to the Halloween decorations they had had up in my Walgreens, they also had Christmas decorations out already.. Another MyLotter was saying they are starting to play Christimas music already in the stores near them--like give me a break. But I must say, getting a Christmas card so soon?? That must be a real winning record of the Christmas rush

wow that's really quick! It's only the beginning of november and you've gotten a christmas card already. But I guess it's ok, better late than never. And you should be flattered to receive a christmas card this early. The one who sent the card to you is really efficient! ;)

It seems it's a little bit early for sending out or receiving Christmas blessing. As Christmas is almost 1 month afterwards thanksgiving.
Now I'm just getting ready to celebrate thanksgiving. But there is a long period before it.
So it would be strange, if I received Christmas blessing now.
