I do. Its another way of saying hello. I dont care if the other person smiles back. Some people are just stuck up.

I always smile at people. It is a way of showing that I am friendly. If they don't smile back, it doesn't bother me. I just say, that's their problem and keep going.
The other day, I got caught off guard though. I was getting off the bus to go to the library and I was deep in thought. A friend of mine drove by and said, What are you frowning for? When I recognized her, I started laughing. I was very embarrassed.

Yes that is true, sometimes we have our mind on other things and that could be the case, when another person doesn't smile back, something could be on their mind.

Yes, I always smile at other people, whether I'm familiar with who they are, or not, and it doesn't bother me whether they smile back or not really. It's nice if they do, but if they don't, they're the ones missing out... I'm happy and they're grumpy! he he.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

That is right, I did feel kind of bad the other day when I went to court for a ticket, I smiled at the Lady Policeman, you know she would even smile back, but it is ok, at least I smiled. I wasn't having a bad day, maybe she was having a bad day..

most of the time I don't smile unless I feel like it
sometimes I smile if someone is beautiful though
or if I like them or am happy
otherwise I don't

The old saying is smiling is contagious! So if a person chooses to smile back or not doesn't make me feel bad one way or the other. But the odds of a person not smiling back is slim, because most people do smile back when approached with a smile.

You are right, honey.
I think I will feel like an idiot if that person doesn't smile back - which is surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) common.
You remember how cashiers should be friendly? Well, many times they just give me a black face when I smile at them!

Well, most of the time yes! Smiling is one way of showing you hold no animosity towards a person and that you are a happy person no matter your worries. Of course, the smile has to be in your eyes too!
