Does anyone here eat tofu? I have a pack in the fridge and only one recipe for it. I would really like to see more things that I could do with it. I know that I can look recipes up online, but I like seeing what other people have tried and enjoyed. Thanks! Even if you don't have a recipe, what do you think of tofu? Do you ever eat it?

Tofu is great in miso soup. But with that soup you can add plenty of other things too like potatoes, onions, veggies, greens. Its pretty good.

Yes, I love tofu. To be honest it doesn't taste of anything much by itself, but it absorbs the flavours that it's cooked with, and I love the texture of it. It's also a very good source of protein, especially if you're on a vegetarian diet. I like to coat it in soy sauce and honey and fry it in some sesame oil with chopped spring (salad) onions and chilli peppers. Fry it for a few minutes and serve it up with some rice.

My husband's family does a really good fried Tofu. It's real simple, you just fry it. Some recipes say dust in flour and then after fried dip it in a shoyu type sauce. I'm sure you can find the recipe online. I never really ate tofu before but I was amazed on how simple and good it was. Also, I had a Tofu curry that was pretty good. Japanese style curry, not Indian. That wasn't that bad as well.

Yes, frying tofu is okay if you use hard tofu. Slice them into cubes, then skewer with a barbecue stick. Cook them over hot coals like you would in a barbecue. Be sure to put soy sauce or barbecue sauce to add flavor and more texture to it.

I am scared of tofu. I have never had it, but it looks gross. I watched some shows on TLC where they are trying to eat better and it is always gross to watch them try tofu for the first time! I will pass thank you much!

Yes, tofu is one of my favorite food and I always make it a substitute from meat and pork so here is one of the tofu recipe that I do like to prepare " Tofu with Peanut Ginger-Sauce"....
Ingredients:1. 5 tablespoons water
2. 4 tablespoons smooth natural peanut butter
3. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (see Ingredient note) or white vinegar
4. 2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
5. 2 teaspoons honey
6. 2 teaspoons minced ginger
7. 2 cloves garlic, minced
8. 14 ounces extra-firm tofu, preferably water-packed
9. 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
10. 4 cups baby spinach
11. 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
12. 4 scallions, sliced
To prepare sauce:
1. Whisk water, peanut butter, rice vinegar (or white vinegar), soy sauce, honey, ginger and garlic in a small bowl.
2. To prepare tofu: Drain and rinse tofu; pat dry. Slice the block crosswise into eight 1/2-inch-thick slabs. Coarsely crumble each slice into smaller, uneven pieces.
3. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over high heat. Add tofu and cook in a single layer, without stirring, until the pieces begin to turn golden brown on the bottom, about 5 minutes. Then gently stir and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until all sides are golden brown, 5 to 7 minutes more.
4. Add spinach, mushrooms, scallions and the peanut sauce and cook, stirring, until the vegetables are just cooked, 1 to 2 minutes more.

yes. i almost eat tofu every day. but i want why you name it like this. in my dictionary, maybe the american call it as bean curd. i can tell you so many kinds of ways to enjoy eating it. cold, hot, oil drying, make it weird taste and so on. but it's too complex to indicate by word. so i prefer you can find a chinese friend to help you if you can or you can search some CN web which is very helpful to learn how to cook the tofu.

My favorite and easiest tofu recipe is breaded tofu.
I cut the tofu into rectangular shape. Then I marinate it with barbecue marinade and a little maple syrup. I then dip in a beaten egg and roll it on bread crumbs then deep fry it.
You can also add thyme and grated mozarella cheese on the bread crumbs (these reminds me of parmesan egglplant) or any spices you want.

Tofu is one food that I never thought I would like. One night my husband and I were at our favorite Japanese restaurant and decided to be brave. We ordered the vegetable hibachi (comes with tofu). It was sooo good! This is what we order every single time now! We also order Tofu Age and of course Miso soup.
I have only tried to cook with it once. I dusted it with flour and spices, them stir fried it with veggies.
Now I am craving Japanese food!

You can serve it with pasta and steamed veggies with red sauce and Parmesan cheese. You could serve it mixed in rice or salad. You could make tofu burgers(lots of different recipes for those on the internet). Or you could cut the tofu into slices marinate slices in your favorite marinade and bake it. The great thing about tofu, it picks up the flavors of whatever you cook it with. Good for protein.
