If I have no knowledge of the topic, or I'm not interested...there were times that the topics that I see are all 'foreign' to me that's why it takes time for me to search for 'the one". Like this discussion, it's quite interesting, and anyone can reply to this as we all have experienced choosing topics for responding...

hi bala,
If the topic of discussion is not of interest, or if I do not feel I can add to the discussion, then I will not respond to the discussion.
If the discussion is extremely vague, I will not respond either. If the topic is out of my range of knowledge, I will not respond.
Happy posting..

I do not respond to those discussions which are beyond my comprehensions. In some of the discussions, I feel I cannot contribute substantially, therefor I do not post my replies. As far as my friends here are concerned, I try to reply to their most of the discussions and I also know that even I write a short answer, they would understand my position.
Have a great day!
How was the Diwali!
Deepak

I usually do not respond to a post if I do not understand or am not aware of what the discussion is about. I also do not post when I have nothing constructive to give as a discussion. Sometimes, I feel the post is a good one but I have nothing to say about it..I don't respond to it then. If the answer is a useless one-liner, then I don't post there either.

I try to get away from discussion that I'm not very familiar with.
I usually believe those people with life experiences because reading books sometimes is not enough.

Hello again Bala. My main reason for not responding to a certain discussion is when I can't think of the right words to say or contribute to that discussion. Sometimes, all I can do is rate them positively then my mind goes blank.
Second reason is when like your case, I can't understand what their real point is. I have seen some discussions that have a great title but lacks certain explanation. And from there on, I don't know how to proceed.

Thanks Bala. I think the little bird is doing the popular dance move done by John Travolta and Uma Thurman, in the movie, Pulp Fiction.^_^

If I can't understand what is going on I won't respond. If I feel burned out talking about the subject I won't respond. If I know nothing about it and can contribute nothing, I won't respond. If it looks like a pointless exercise in futility I won't respond.

Today is November 8, 2007 and the second day for Happy Diwali. I hope you enjoyed much for yesterday and today celebrations, my friend.
First and foremost I am out of resource to make response. But I will try to the utmost level and at least with a moral of language that can be clearly read with moral of tone.
Next a pragmatic reason for me is, when on my previous responses to that particular user name, and always having their comments to my response just like I can "smell Fishy" commentaries from them showing that, like they are no longer need my response. Matter-of-fact they are in 'my friends' list. Every e-mail notification I have to make respond as soon as I surf my e-mail. I got to stop responding.
For my third reason, every time or most of the time their discussion having 'deletion' reaction by mylot. Because normally this particular user name are not so active on mylot but when posting discussion most of the time they provide affiliate links on their discussion which is obviously violating discussion guideline. They are in 'my friends' list. I got to stop responding.
Good Discussion - thank you very much for providing; Happy Diwali and Happy Posting.
