What was your worst experience when receiving service at a restaurant or some other establishment? What did you do after receiving such poor service? Tonight at my bowling league I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich with soda before my bowling league was started. That was around 6:15pm. The waitress brought my soda about 15 minutes later but did not bring my food. Over an hour later, my food had still not come so I went and asked about the food that I ordered. She said it was done and that she would bring it down soon. Over a half hour later, I still not have my food. Fortunately one of my friends works there and he asked me what happened and he went and took care of business. The waitress then came over but with only partial of my food order. She brought the sandwich but not the fries. She said the fries were not ready yet. I was so hot. She finally brought the fries. We almost finished the second of three games by the time I had all my food. She then asked me to tip her. I was really annoyed and am thinking about complaining to the bowling alley about her poor service. What do you think I should do? I certainly will not order from her again.

The worst customer service experience for me and my friend was when we are buying this BASKIN ROBBINS ice cream and this man keep on asking or rather begging to buy that small cone rather than what we want. he keep on saying that its expensive. i feel mad about it..
How can he be a customer service like that? I just control myself and keep on coming back to that place to prove to him that we can afford to buy the ice cream we want without his unwanted opinion.

The worst customer service I ever encounter is my Internet provider. They are so slow and they have incompetent techies. They cant even help you work out with the problem. And when I went to the office I am so pissed because they are so disrespectful.

I think it's because many times they are simply people who are in "call centers" hired mainly to handle the customer complaints and trained to say " I am so sorry, I understand, I will pass this on "

I would have complained to the bowling alley management. You should have gotten your food for free and someone in management needs to have a talk with her.
I have had a few experiences with rotten service. I will complain too if it is bad enough. Small problems I just let go. One time my mom and I ordered some food, we got our drinks and waited and waited for our food. It wasn't coming. Imagine our surprise when the waitress came with our check, and then said with surprise in her voice, "you didn't get you food", duh she was supposed to bring it to us. Another time I was served burnt (really burnt) onion rings. I took one look, asked the waitress, would you eat that. I couldn't believe she would even serve them. I have had a few other bad service experiences, we all do from time to time. I understand we are all human and make mistakes, I just won't tolerate rudness, and laziness and then they have the nerve to want a tip.

Your waitress sounded pretty clueless about you not getting your food but bringing your bill to you. That is horrible and probably worse than mine. I was upset my service and was not able to focus on bowling. My friend who works there is treating me for free next week so that was very nice of him and will only order from him or the other person that does the cooking there.

Oh the things we have to put up .. I know there was a time at a certain restaurant..It was during Lent ..I ordered grilled cheese with some home made tomato soup..Well like you, I got only part of my order..the soup..and when I finally got my cheese..it wasn't grilled at all.I could feel my blood curdling a tad, but called for the waitress and showed her the cheese sandwhich..I told her I wanted a grilled cheese not cold cheese sandwhich..she apologized and then brought me back a blackened to the core grilled cheese sandwhich..I was so upset.. that I called her and she asked if I wanted to re-order and I said "no"
I did bring it to the attention of the on-duty manager who then gave me a certificate for a free dinner next time I would come back.

Well, I am sorry to hear that and yes that would be the best thing to do. Just order from someone else next time, or if they do have a suggestion box or something along those lines, rate her. That way her employer would know and she would get a talk to, so that she does a better job next time around.
I don't think I remember having a bad service recently. I guess, I don't hold grudges if I don't remember this one.

I've had a similar experience. A few years ago, my husband and I and two friends were going to the circus. We wanted to get there early to get good parking. We went out to eat before the circus and I experienced the worst service of my life. The waitress manages to screw up my simple order of chicken tenders and fries. Everyone else got their food and she brought me out the wrong dish. I sent it back and waited for almost 30 minutes for her to bring out another wrong dish! I ordered CHICKEN TENDERS. How hard is that, you know? I didn't get my food for almost an hour and then I felt rushed because everyone else was finished! I was so mad. I had to hurry and eat so we wouldn't be late. She didn't get a tip from me needless to say. I wouldn't have tipped the waitress you had either.

I think you should complain what the waitress done to you to be able to let them aware that they have a waitress that have poor service. Report this on their customer service or their manager so they will know it and change for the better of their service.

we've quite a few bad experiences actually - sad to say.. customer service in my country has not come to the level where i would be proud of.
but one particular incident happened quite some years back - i still remember it because it happened at a famous local eatery (i hadnt imagined such experience because of all the great reviews i've heard of the place).
it was my husband's birthday - it was my treat. he ordered a chicken dish - specifically requested it to be well-done. the restaurant was quite packed so we had expected the food to be served 'slightly' later than usual, but it took them more than 30 minutes - they had already delivered mine... so i had to wait for his food to arrive. when his dish arrive... after eating not more than half of it... we could see that the meat was not thoroughly cooked, or easily said - half raw - since he did request for it to be 'well-done' - he was really pi$$ed off by now.
we called out to the waiter, and showed him the meat, he didnt appolgize or said anything... but quickly took his plate away.... he came back about 15-minutes later... the piece of chicken was somewhat smaller than he took away (i did mention my husband hasnt eaten more than half of the portion), and this time, the meat was over-cooked, the skin was all charred, and meat had become hard.
the funny thing was... when he took away my husband's plate, he hasnt eaten his side dishes yet... when the plate came back... only the meat was 'returned' - what happened to the potatoes, and vegies ??
i really felt hurt, very angry... i filled out a customer survey form and wrote my complaints, but nothing back from the restaurant. really made me wonder how did they get all those fine reviews..
but i really felt bad because it was supposed to be a wonderful dinner for my husband for his birthday, but he was the one 'suffered' that night.
we never went back to that place... and people ask... i simply tell that 'better go somewhere else'.
busy or not... i believe that they should live up to their reputation and deliver good service at all times.
i think you should complain about the service - maybe not just the girl - but the whole kitchen - maybe it was not her fault your food was not ready as soon as it should be - that could be a proble with the people in the kitchen... but i dont think it's right for her to ask you for a tip...

I have to say that is a horrible story. I would never leave a tip to someone with such bad customer service. My worse customer service story was at a jack in the box fast food restraurant where i asked for a cheese burger with no mayonaise and recieved two buns with no meat and mayonaise on those same buns. I was furious but eventually got my refund and went some place else.

That happened to me in a local italian restaurant couple months ago. I had spaghetti bolognese as it was the only dish that I knew what it was, and that I liked. My husband and I ordered different dishes. He got his a lot sooner than I did. I told him to go ahead and eat before it got cold. I had to ask the waitress twice for mine before I got it, and then it was cold. I had to ask her to have it reheated. When she brought it back it was like rubber so I couldnt eat it anyway. When we got our bill and went to pay the cashier asked us was everything ok. Of course I wasnt go to say yes everything was lovely. I told her what had happened and she said that it was unaceptable and halved the bill. Needless to say we never went there again..... But we definitely didnt leave a tip!! I would have complained to the management before you left the bowling alley, when the facts were fresh and the waitress was still there..
