I know that most of you will say "not at all", but please be honest with yourselves and confess hehe. I will say that I used to care about my clothes and stuff being of a certain brand more when i was a bit younger, about 20 or so. Nowadays, 99 percent of all the good brand stuff that i own comes from presents. I hardly ever get myself something that has a well known brand, simply i don't mind, specially for clothes. I make an exception with shoes, because i don't have many at all and I use them for at least a couple years, so i want a pair of good shoes. But in the rest i don't really mind.
How about you? do you really care about brands? what do you think about those brand snobs?

I've never really been too much into brand names at all. When I was younger, I did only wear levi jeans but it wasnt so much the brand but back then I was so tall and so thin that was the only brand that fit well. now I go for comfort and fit and brand means nothing to me. What do i think about brand snobs?...if they want to spend their money on a name and it makes them feel good....let them.

Hello LightninStrike,
Ya' know, I'm much more concerned about quality than any name that is listed on a product. Having said that, I don't find that a known name plastered on the product is, in many instances, an assurance of quality. So many goods are farmed out these days. It used to be that a name meant something. Nowadays, there are very few names that are truly synonymous with quality.
If I'm in the market for a good quality wool blanket, I will seek out a "Pendleton". If I'm on the hunt for gas powered garden/lawn tools, I'll only buy one of three brands. My nutritional supplements -- I'll only trust a half dozen, or so, name brands. The point is that it very much depends on the product.
Clothes pretty much don't matter to me. I buy based on how well the item is made, i.e. stitching and quality of the material. In fact, here's a funny tidbit -- the only jeans that we buy for my husband are "Rustler". They are considered 'cheapo', yet they wear better than any other brand we've purchased. Levi's, Lee, Wrangler all wear out alot quicker than the Rustler's -- go figure.
Shoes and pet products -- I'm very particular about. Electronics don't much matter anymore, because the parts all come from the same place. With the notable exception of stereo speakers, which we tend to stick with one high quality brand.
Then, there's the arena of food and cleaning products. I'm not so much concerned with the name of the product, as the ingredients of the product. Hubby & I are astute label readers.
So, I guess for many products I am particular. Yet, I'm not a designer person at all. Quality is my mantra.

Hi LightninStrike! When I was younger until the time I got married, I am brand conscious. But married life made me practical, and I just expect presents to be branded and not the ones that i buy. haha.. Just joking. I don't buy branded clothes anymore and like you, all the branded clothes and bags I own are usually presents from family and friends. Take care and have a nice day.

I would love to be a brand snob but can't afford it. when I was younger I could afford name brands but now it's what I can get on special most times. I think name brand clothes are better made and do fit better, are probably more true to size but they go out of fashion just as quickly as the cheapies. Shoes are more important. Ill fitting, badly made shoes can do permanent damage to your feet so you really should be careful what you buy.

I can honestly say no, I'm not... I hardly ever buy anything brand name. I admit that I'm cheap! lol! I just don't have the money to buy name brand clothes and stuff!
It always makes me laugh when someone makes a comment about a shirt or purse that is name brand and that they pay a lot of money for it, when in my opinion, it's not worth any more that what I buy most of the time.

I don't really care about the brands whenever I buy things. i look for the price and then quality of the products. Sometimes, it is not out of choice when I bought branded stuffs especially when quality is concerned. Most of my branded stuffs are electronic stuffs and most of my non-branded stuffs are my clothing. LOL!

Hello there. I would say I do care about the brands. When it comes to clothings, I only go for certain brands. The reason is because I am already comfortable with that brand so I do not wish to change and try out other brands. I go more for quality. The brands that I am using includes expensive and also inexpensive labels. The quality is definitely more important than the brand name itself.

I'm probably one of what you could call a "middle-class" brand snob, if there's such a thing. Lol. I do like branded stuff, but not all the time. And the brands I go for are usually the ones that are pretty well known, but not too expensive. Like for shoes, I love Nike and Adidas, but I don't think I would ever get a Prada or something like that. And those Louis Vuitton bags? I'd rather not have one instead of buying a rip-off. I know I can't afford it anyway. Besides, I'm the type that prefers to buy more lower-priced branded stuff than have a single super-expensive thing. I think it's more practical that way. Or maybe I'm just sourgraping because I don't have money to throw away on high-end stuff. Lol.

hello lightningstrike, I usually bought item not based on it's brand, but tends to look the price, price perfomance is a better mark for me, since i'm not rich enought to do that, after could found the best price than I will compare with the branded one, if it still afordable for me and looks fair enough than I will bought it, since brand usually not means quality also. imo

I'm not after the brand name at all. As long as I like the design, the color, its quality and if the price is reasonable, I buy those things. When it comes to shoes, I prefer also to have those that will really last.

What I think, I really don´t know.
Maybe, if I had money enough I would also be a "brand snob"LOL. I don´t know.
Latly a women I know has been giving me shoes and cloths.
That is somewhat imbaressing.
But, I am very greatfull.
My cloths are all rather old, I figure, as long as it is clean no problem.
But, seems to be alot of angels watching over me.
Maybe someday I too will know what financial freedom is.
Then I can buy Brands. LOL.
Have a nice day.

I'm not exactly brand conscious but I want assurance of quality when I buy my clothes. So still, most of the time, if I have enough budget, I end up with a bit high end stuff. But I don't mind trying out cheaper brands to test if they're clothes would last.

Well,I do consider about the brand but actually I don't care about it too much.I'm not brand-oriented.Sometimes,we have to confess there're many brand products which are really nicer or more beautifully designed and in better quality.I like some brands cause I like the style they design things. Then whenever I go shopping,I'd like to go to those stores to take a look. But it doesn't mean I only buy things because of that brand. If there're some other clothes or shoes which are nice-looking and in good quality and very suitable for me,I would take it even it's not a famous brand:)
