This is something that I was just thinking about because I have seen quite a few people eating out in a resturant alone in the place where I live. Most of Them seem not to be bothered by it in the least. So what do you think? Would you eat out at a resturant alone, and feel comfortable doing so?

i don't normally feel uncomfortable going to eat alone... but usually i'll just get something to go and just go home and eat alone... seems like everytime i try to sit down by myself in a restaurant to eat... someone i haven't seen a long time pops up... annoying! so i'd just assume go home ... turn on a good movie... and eat and enjoy my alone time... ALONE!

You are right it's nice to have friends and family around especially eating, food has that way of bringing people together. However, sometimes it's just nice to have your own down time when you don't have the pressure of feeling that you have to entertain your guest. Now I must admit, I would have a much harder time going to a pub or bar alone. Thanks for your thoughts.

i have no issues with eating alone in public. i do it all the time when no one's available to accompany me. eating out is as easy as 123. you order food, eat, pay then go. why think about other stuff like what will people think of you eating out alone when your business in that place is just to eat. you're not there to party or meet guys or anything. you're there to eat. as simple as that. i think those who find it awkward to eat alone in public are those who depends all the time in other people. they can't do things on their own. they're in constant need of companionship.

Though I can eat out in a resturant or in a simple fast food chain alone but I still prefer having a companion while dining out. It's still good to have someone that you can discuss things while eating in a restaurant. You can share what you think about the food and the service rendered by the crew from that restaurant.
And believe me it is so lonely eating out alone. But if you're looking for a date it's the best way.

No, I think I would rather be shot than eat alone. I have always been that way. I would rather just skip a meal than eat in a restaurant alone. Sometimes when I'm out and about and I get hungry, I actually speed all the way home so that I can eat rather than just stopping for a bite.

i like to eat alone because many times i observed myself if i eat with my brothers and sisters then a chatter boxes will raise less food more talk ...routine i donnwanna neglect diet..so better for me to eat alone after eating sufficiently then i ill mixup with them..gives me lots of strenght to chat wiith them...

I don't eat out much anymore due to health reasons, but when I did, I often went alone and didn't think anything of it. Now, when I do eat out, I'll eat at a fast food or casual dining place alone, but I prefer company with the nicer restaurants.

I enjoy eating out alone. It makes me feel independent hehe. But so far I've only eaten out alone in fast food chains. I find that I eat quickly when I'm alone, whereas I eat slower when I have a companion and we tend to linger after the meal.

i never have before and i never will. i think it would just be odd. if i'm out alone and get hungry i'd just go through the drive-thru at a fast food place. i wouldn't want to go in to any restaurant by myself and dine.
