What is the best way to lose 10 lbs without starving? I want to lose weight (10 lbs) but haven't a clue as to the healthiest way of doing it. Any suggestions?

I'm the leader for our local TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) group and I'm battling those last 10 pounds too! What I'm doing is making sure that I do some form of exercise every single day and I've cut out the sweets (my biggest downfall!). I'm losing it slowly, like only 1/2 pound a week, but, I figure even if it's slow, at least it's going down.
It also helps a lot that I'm weighed every week at a meeting because it keeps me accountable... I'm more likely to stick with a plan if I know other people know whether I've lost or gained for the week.
Good luck to you!

Hi there I am a Physical Therapist: You should eat three times a day. Don't skip breakfast. It will make you feel hungry all throughout the day if you don't eat anything in the morning. And you will tend to eat a lot in your lunch and in the evening. Eat food if you are hungry do not starved yourself. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits. Walk.walk.walk.walk. atleast 30 mins. walk with your dog to enjoy:

I tried the atkins diet VERY strictly and lost about 10 pounds in about 2 weeks. most of it stayed off but some came back. i didnt stick to it and it all eventually came back. of course atkins is controversial. i also tried calorie counting with exercise. i lost about a pound every two days. on this one you dont have to be as strict about what you eat, just how much. use a diet calculator to find how many calories you should take in each day to stay at your current weight, then shave off about a hundred calories. i think i heard somewhere you lose about a pound for each 1800 calories you lose. if you take out 100 per day and exercise to lose about another 100 calories thats 200 calories less a day so it will take about 9 days to lose apound. thats just an example. when i was on this diet i cut out about 500 calories a day by eating healthier and less amounts. I also ran to lose another 300 calories a day. so about an 800 calories less a day. the math was really reflected on the scale. i really feel this is a safe way to diet without restricting yourself too much. as always find the best combination of calorie reduction and exercise thats best for you. youll know when you are pushing it so just adjust the numbers. and always the best advice is to exercise and eat right! Im a fan of also eating less carbs. dont totally take them out but definitely but back. let me know if you want any more detailed info :) i would like to lose about 10 pounds to but i have a hard time with will power!!!! good luck! :-)

oh and ps - if you calorie count and lose some weight, remember to do your calorie calculator again so it keeps working. your daily calorie intake amount will change depending on your weight :-)
i forgot to add to do weights. more muscles means faster metabolism. keep the weights the same and increase the reps as you go along. this will increase your strenth but wont get you bulky. its also a huge plus for women as weights strengthen bones!!! :-)
