Do you still believe in the old way of living where men go out and earn a living while women stay at home being a housewife and looking after the children?

I am a housewife, but i disagree with this. Being a housewife is not my decision, but my husband's. My mother is a career woman, so i expected that i would be the same way...but it was the other way around. Having a career gives so much growth to an individual. For me, a woman must have the freedom for whatever choice she has.

With the type of living we have now, I believe that equal opportunity should be the best solution. We are now in a fast-paced and modern age living, people need to catch up on everything so they won't get left behind. The important thing is, both should support each other whatever decisions one has to take..

Things were a lot simpler then. I must admit that I am old-fashioned. We certainly didn't have the problem with kids back then that we do now. My parents always knew where I was. I knew better than to get into trouble because there was always dad to answer to. We had good morals and respected each other including the elders. The family was more stable when the mother was able to stay at home with the kids. There was more of a connection between parents and child. Now adays, with both parents working, it seems the kids just get in the way and are left to their own devices way too often. More often than not it takes two parents working to keep the roof over their heads. It seems we may have lost something in trying to provide things that we really can't afford. It's not easy to say family comes first when you are both working 9-5. Its no wonder that family life has broken down when they barely see each other.
