One thing to try is a cup of water, tablespoon of glycerol as one mixture, and then use a low or medium ph detergent with water as a mixture. Apply the detergent to the stain by blotting. Then blot with the glycerol mixture. Blot once more with the detergent mixture and then try to rinse the stain out with water. Try testing it on an unslightly part of the cloth to check for bleaching.
You can also try 3% peroxide (the home brand peroxide). Try that on the an unslightly part of the cloth in case of fading or staining. Use that to pick out the stain, but do not overkill.
You can also put oxyclean water and a bit of detergent in a mixture and let it set on the stain for a bit. As always, you should check for bleaching, but it seems least likely here. Or you can soak the trousers in a solution of detergent (with oxyclean if possible) for a few hours.
If you feel up to it, you can try a lemon, vingear and baking soda mixture. Try to get it into the stain for several minutes to help it break down the stain. Then rinse with water. Since this is more of a homemade solution, results can vary the most here.

I have gotten some preaty tough stains out by soaking the item for a long period. What I do is fill a bucket with water and add some type of Oxy Cleaner swish that around until the Oxy is disolved. Then I spray the stain with Shout and add the item to the bucket. The next day I empty the bucket, water and all into the washer. I also add some more Oxy to the washer with my soap powder. Some stains just don't come out though... Good luck. I hope this helps.. :-)
