So this morning I woke up feeling extreamly dizzy and my head is still spinning. What exactly does this mean? I can't walk straight and I feel like falling, and when I lie down my body feels like it's moving in all directions, when in reality I'm just lying down. If someone could explain dizzy spells and why they happen I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you if you can do this.

When I was in highschool I used to get dizzy spells that one doctor told me was because of my sensitivity to inner-ear infections. I always had these as a kid, but didn't think I got any while in highschool.
Another doctor told me I may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety, which is probably closer to the truth since I was involved in so many activities back then: marching band, concert band, track, swim team, girl scouts, various clubs, etc. It's most likely stress, but I'd get an ear exam just to be sure.
If you do have an inner ear infection, there's an antibiotic your doctor can prescribe for you.
Also, if it's stress, you might consider having some quiet time to yourself each day. This seems to help me deal with my anxiety these days!
Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks so much for that response. Well I have been a little on edge latley, and worrying about things I really shouldn't. Also my 30th birthday is comming up in a few days and I guess it's the age thing that keeps bothering me.

I hear ya, I'm going to be 30 on Dec. 22nd this year... it's creeping it's way into my mind more and more. (Maybe that's why I changed my profile pic on all the sites I'm on, including this one!) The pic I have up is from 10 years ago!
I hope you're feeling better, and try not to let things get to you too much! (I know it's hard sometimes). Get some rest, that will help!

You could have an inner ear infection or may vertigo. You will need to see a doctor for either one of these problems. Dont drive yourself though. good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

I agree that it might be an inner ear problem. How is your blood pressure? Some people have similar problems because of low blood pressure others have high blood pressure which can cause dizziness.Does it stop after you have been up? Funny, it also sounds like I used to feel with a hangover,LOL! There is also vertigo which is also ear related. If it happens a lot I would see a doctor cause it could be a lot of different things.
