Seing that a lot of people are not quite interested in the world except their own, i was wondering, what do you know about former yugoslavia, serb's attempt at genocide against bosnian people, and how quite are you interested in that subject??
Since i'm a bosnian, i survived a 92'-95' war, but the political stability of the region has always been bad, and now we have a chance of another war. Since the first war destroyed my life, the life of my family, and my happiness at least, i can't let myself fight for something that everyone gives a damn about.. I think that it's really not fair that i live a life of destroyed nerves, fear, and opression, while someone has all the happiness in the life, and does not give a damn about hungry, poor, and people in war:(

I am interested in this subject, Johnny_B. I remember following the news about this war when it was happening, and feeling at an utter loss about what I could do about it and about so many destroyed lives. I am an American, and it seemed that no one cared what was happening, at least no one I knew.
I struggled / wrestled with ways I could help, but of course, what could I do? I don't know why this war struck at my heart as it did. It seemed so senseless while at the same time no one seemed to want to intervene in relevant ways.
Please tell me about it as you know it.

First of all, i want to thank you for this. I'm glad that there's at least one person in the world that cared about what was going on in here. The political situation in the region is now very unstable, and some war analist's predict a new war will soon happen here. The thing is that Serbs captured a part of bosnian land, but it is still in the Bosnian Federation. So Bosnia is divided in 2 parts, a part where serb slaughterers live, and a part where bosnian people live. However, Bosnia is included in the Europian Union joining program, and to do this, it must forfill several political and economical duties, that the Union demands, in order to join it. Now, the thing is that, the serb part of Bosnia, is a great political weapon, due to that their opstruction and sabotaging the political reforms and revolutions that take place in Bosnia. Now, a European Union high representative, Mr. Lajcak, has wrote several laws, that serbs don't like, in order for Bosnia to join the Union. The Serbs are now threathening with a new war, against Bosnia, and on the other side, against Kosovo, who want's to excomunicate from the Serbia. This is the political situation now, if there is anything else you want to know, i would be glad to provide u that

Thank you for this information. It is a real concern for me. I am going to ask you to be a friend so that you can PM me more information and I can ask more pointed questions. If you are not comfortable with this, I understand.

Yep I know about it, and I still remember it. I definitely remember more of the outbreaks and problems of the later years including some of the spillover in subsequent years. Its also sick that some individuals were not brought to true justice for what happened (or what didn't happened depending on each case and subject).
And some people do care that people are hungry, poor and dying. It happens around the world and some people do think of it, others do something about it (I know its not much but I do donate and I raise awareness. Unfortunately not many want to listen)

I am sorry to hear that, buddy. I know people there are suffering great from the political unstability and racial hatred for years. I still remember when USA and NATO bombed Chinese Embassy to Yugoslavia 1999 and killed 3 Chinese martyrs. They just take themselves as world police and intervene the internal affairs of other countries rudely. Hope everything will turn better there!
