I have been putting off anything that has to do with christmas so far. I usually am done my shopping by now but I have barely even started this year with money being so tight. But my daughter said she would like to see Fred Claus and I am like ugh NOT YET. I see that some cartoons are already putting them out too and I cringe. Lots of Christmas movies are coming out right now and I think "isn't this too soon?"
Are you already getting the christmas movies out or are you like me and holding back?

I'm like that too - wait till they come out and rent them and have fun (and less expense) at home! Those theather seats get pretty hard and and all the people and lines - where's the christmas spirit in that!

Well, before my son was born I wouldn't watch any of them before December starts. Now though... since he's Autistic and takes time to adjust to certain things, I've already started him watching Rudolph and Frosty. Partly in case I can afford to get him a picture with Santa. I want him to be somewhat familiar with the character, so that it's not so frightening an experience for him. Ultimately it's going to be one of those "let's see what happens" things, but I'm hoping it might help make the experience go smoothly if that makes any sense at all.

That is a wonderful idea. There are three autistic children in my son's class, the school is first in the province that has a special program designed for autistic children which so far is sounding pretty successful. Happy Holidays

I'd hold back to. Yes it is to early. Can we have Thanksgiving first? Plus, maybe by the time it is closer to Christmas, they'll be on pay per view or to rent and you can pay a lesser price than the theater. But if you do do theater - check out the matinee times and save a bit that way.

I feel that we shouldn't do anything until at least December 1st. That is still 25 days till the date and plenty of time. Thanks

We have watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas a few times already. I want to rent Deck The Halls and The Santa Claus 3 I think I might try to rent them next weekend while the kids are home for Thanksgiving break.

I get into the Christmas *mood* by watch the Christmas cartoons and movies. I have watched the cartoon, "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" twice this week. I always watch "It's a Wonderful Life" at least twice a season. One, being on Christmas Eve. I have found myself humming and singing snippets of Christmas carols already. I am 'almost' in the mood. :-)

Hey, I say bring on the christmas movies!! Its the christmas shopping, the christmas decorating, the dragging the kids from family to family and the taking down the decorations that i'm holding back! lol I think watching the movies gets me more in the spirit of christmas :)

No, quite frankly I find christmas movies cheesy and generally tacky. they are more for kids. Besides my family is too dysfunctional now for me to really enjoy christmas like I used to.
