Typing

I dislike learning to type. I have a typing tutor software, but I just can't put my mind into it. So I type using my fingers arbitrarily. Why is learning typing so boring for some like me?

Seems it comes naturally to some, Manuela..It is 2020 now (nearly two decades since I started this discussion) and I still don't enjoy typing! :D

@nela13 Yep, I was away from MyLot for a long time indeed...it just happened in the course of my career progression..Now when I come back, surprised indeed to find MyLot just as it was back then...

I know this is an older post, but! I learned how to type in high school. I'm not great, but I get by.

School kids learn faster because their mind is fresh & receptive. I wish I had such an opportunity when I was a school kid!

I love to type I don't find it boring at all. My son finds it fascinateing that I can type without looking at the keyboard he asked me how I do that I told him it just takes practice.

that's indeed fascinating...typing without looking at keyboard....On my part, i find it very restrictive to place fingers on keyboard in a fixed manner....ASDF - JKL;

Actually the more you type, the better you will be with it.

It can be difficult to learn something new. It wasn't easy for me either. Patience and practice made it easy and not boring, especially when you can write interesting things.

Like many things typing takes practice. I took typing in H.S. and was so bad I had to stay after school to practice. After many years of just having to type different things I don't even need to look at the keys. As they say "practice makes perfect" or in my case better, lol.
