Hi everyone I wanted to wish all a happy Thanksgiving. Im looking forward to eating till Im stuffed and cant move! The only thing I hate about Thanksgiving is the clean up. It takes hours. Then we have to do little send home bags to everyone. And not one of the men will offer their help. And its always the same women who offer to help in the kitchen. I wish some of my other family members would offer to help just to give us a break. Does that happen to you?

I sure hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with your family. I love Thanksgiving time. I love the food. This is the first year I have never helped cook. So it was a big change for me. My daughter did all the cooking. I just had to enjoy it. LOL

We went to our daughters today (Thur) so there was nothing I had
to do. That's always great. All that was done by us is my wife
always does the cleaning of the turkey after all are done eating.
So all I did was eat and sleep then sleep after I got home as well.
Hee hee. 2 years in a row at her house. Hoping it's next year as well. I do not miss the mess afterwards at all. I offered to help. A bit wuietly but I did ask. HAHA!!
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thanks Terry! Its Friday now, but Happy Thanksgiving to you too! lol
Actually I was pretty lucky with the clean up. Hubby was actually home, he didnt even go to the barn. I was really happy. He helped me cook and he helped me clean up! He washed I rinsed, dried and put away. Didnt take us any time at all. I even made the comment that this was probably the quickest Thanksgiving clean up ever! We really didnt have a whole lot, just our plates and the pots and pans I used to cook in, so it wasnt too bad.
I tried to tell him to go relax, he might not have a day off like this for a long time since his job is usually 7 days a week 365 days a year, but he wouldnt. Im SO thankful for him! :)

It seems like no one ever offers to help me clean up I do it all while they just sit around and talk. If is so frustating that they will not help at all. I am about to not have dinner anymore I get tired of doing everything.

Thanks and I hope you enjoyed the day too! My husband does all of the cooking and I do all of the cleaning, so I only had to face half of the work this year. We only had 6 over for Thanksgiving supper, so clean up was rough, but not as bad as it could have been! It only took me an hour or so. :-)

Thank you too and I hope you have very happy holidays. But you think thats hard. My hubby says that in Italian families the women always help out and feed the men and children its just the way and the family will put you down if you dont. Okay I noticed I am the only woman who helps his mother out. So I decided I dont care if they dont like me, yesterday I brought up the discussion in front of all the men yesterday. I asked what they thought about women that dont help in the kitchen, the men were harsh, so I said does that only apply to Richards wife or are their wives included. I got a lot of help yesterday.
